Are we gonna get this dvd locally? This is a great movie but the one shown on the theaters has many scenes of the original removed. I was hoping we would get this locally.

I also read an article regarding the UK release of this title on this link:

I wouldn't hold my breathe on it.  My guess, is we will get a Viva fullscreen DVD5 of it when it gets here...

If we are lucky, then C Interactive might get the rights, then your hopes might be higher...

Saw both Parts 1 & 2 on sale in Hong Kong when I was there last month. You can order it via HMV online store (hmv.com.hk) and have it shipped here instead. I passed getting it and got John Woo's Chow-Yun-Fat films instead. Decided to keep my "jacked" copy of Pts. 1 & 2 instead for now since there were no video glitches.

Huh? There's a 1 and 2? Which part was shown in local cinemas?

Yes, there's a 1 and 2. If you watch 1, it is ... BITIN! If you watch 2, they show a very short synopsis of 1. Don't know what they showed locally but you really need to watch 1 and 2.

I got Blu-ray versions of 1 and 2 at the HK airport a few months ago. They are incredible. You really want to get the Blu-ray for this kind of film.

The version shown locally is a combination of both 1 & 2. That's why there seemed to be continuity gaps in it.

If you have Bd, I just bought the Red Cliff Bd saturday Grin. Ya its the 280 min version. I bought it in Cardinal audio at a pretty hefty price tho. But I think its all worth it Grin. I also bought Bruce Lee Bds, The big boss and Way of the dragon.  Grin

One thing I like buying in Cardinal audio is they have those chinese movies, some imported stuff not sold in amazon usa. The prices there are pretty expensive imho so I just buy the ones that are hard to find. The rest I just buy in amazon usa.
