Congrats!  Cheapest na siguro yan.

Went to Ansons Makati kanina, the LG 370 is 29,999.

Based on the price on amazon, overpriced ang regular price in the Phils., at yung Abensons Waltermart price, parang tama lang, hindi naman talaga masasabing sale price.

promo ng abenson and lg bd-370 P7990

meron din sa abenson farmers.

meron nga flyers eh.

yup almost the same ang price sa amazon, but may have saved from handling and shipping AND the anxiety of waiting and fear of damage  Grin

Sirs,
Newbie question regarding this blueray player.

Naka region lock din po ba ito katulad ng dvd players?

May hack din ba ito para ma unlock?
Does this void the warranty?
Nice price kasi.
Paano if you like to have a 5.1 system with this unit. My present sharp player unit kasi has 5.1 connection.

Salamat

Yes I was able to get the BD-370 to play all regions for DVD (Blu-Ray stays locked though).

Here's the link;

http://www.videohelp.com/dvdhacks/lg-bd370/10016

As for warranty, yes it will void it if you mess up the process.

Question please... makikigulo lang.

I saw sa fliers na this particular unit supports MKV and it has USB.

Can anyone who owned this unit tested MKVs from USB device and also can anyone try as well what is the maximum supported harddrive size and if the unit supports NTFS.

In any case, this would be the best substitute to an NMTs, plus you have BD media playback capability.

Thanks.

YES it plays MKVs (it says unsupported but it will play)
NO it doesn't support NTFS (it only supports FAT32).

Good price na nga  Si sir Dom nakadalawa tuloy.  Upscaling naman ito ng DVDs?  I think its better to buy this than to buy pa a DVD player, since it can be region unlocked for DVDs.

problem is, is the picture quality of DVD playback at par with that of stand alone DVD players?  This is the problem with most Blu-ray players (except OPPO Blu-ray player maybe), wherein DVD playback is mediocre compared to DVD playback with stand alone DVD players..

Finally got my first Blu ray player and Blu ray. It was an offer to hard to pass on. Kaya ayun kaskas na muna and saka na problemahin ang bayad hehe. With its entry level price this blu ray player is pretty damn good. Except for the DVD upscaling which is ok for me.

Was able to make it multi region in 1 try. Kudos to LG and Abenson as in other establishments this player is still more than 20k.

AFAIK, the player could decode the dolby and dts, though the DTS-HD master audio and DObly TrueHD requires HDMI audio to work.  you can connect the player and your AVR thru your optical port or digital coaxial to get the sounds.  you may choose whether the player will decode or the AVR  Wink

i was thinking that it will decde the TrueHD using optical/coax. better look for a bd with 7.1 analog instead.

Good day. Pasensiya na if I am a newbie on blu ray stuff. If I connected by LG 370 BD through an optical audio cable to my Samsung DVD Home theter system na 5.1 DTS 24 bit 192 kHz DAC (wala pa pambili ng reciever eh hehe). What setting will be better DTS re encode or primary pass through. Kindly explain sirs as it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The thing is FAT32 has a limit of 4Gig per file. Most of 720p MKVs are above 4gig. Thus this file can't be written in a FAT32 HD which this bd player supports.

ay oo nga pala may limit, TV shows lang pwde na mkv then.

In reality all my mkv are played via the HD Pro and Xtreamer anyway. Pang-orig ang LG bluray player na ito

if you're not satisfied with its dvd playback, you can still use your dvd players.  ako, i use my BRD and orig DVDs to LG and jack sparrows to nextbase upscaling dvd player.

grabe ngayon ko lang naisip na for 5 years since i started buying dvd players naka-8 player na nabili ako started on extreme (broken) --> orange (broken) --> extreme again (broken) --> lexing (nasa kwarto) --> nextbase --> promac MIDI karaoke (request ni kumander) --> samsung (xmas gift ko sa parents ko) --> promac SM promo (xmas gift ko sa future in-laws  Grin).
