New LG Official update available.....think it's F W 7  Huh

Did the update via BD370....multi region setting retained...I am not aware of any improvements, and no info can be gathered thru the LG site.  Tongue Embarrassed

My BD370 is connected via LAN, and when I watched a Blu Ray movie, it asked to update itself.  Wink

For bluray region A lang. I have Rambo 4 na UK BD hindi pwde.  If you are able to apply the region-free firmware, it can read any region DVD

Possible ba na mag-work ang firmware nito for region unlocking ng LG BD-270?

btw, ano yung link para sa firmware? naka-down ata ang site ng LG...

Firmware is model specific....all you have to do is to always be online via LAN, and the player will self update and ask for your permission if you want to update.

Per my experience with both the PS3 & LG BD370, it's best to be always online whenever you use them.

Good for PS3 since you can always browse the internet.

For LG, only for updates depending on the BD disc or current firmware

Slightly OT: Nabagsak ng brother-in-law ko itong BD-370 ko the other day (got it from anya last year). Apparently, humiwalay yung front panel. I just found out today. Ayaw na mag-on   :'(  :'(  :'(

And I just bought Transformers and Iron Man kanina.

Huhuhuhuhu.

my bd-370 FW is never updated since i bought it.  i was curious as to what advantages does this new FW offers form LG's website.  so i called them and talked to the t4ech support becuae i was afraid that if i updated my unit i might lose the open region of dvd.  the TS told that if there's nothing wrong to the unit, its NOT advisable to update especially if the updating is done by non-LG personnel.  He explained several reasons:

He said that the update was released by LG only for those unit that "flickers".  the update itself was just a repair for the bug.

he also said that a few months ago, one customer who went to their shop for repair and they themselves updated the unit, it became LOCK as in even if powered on.  so in the end, they replaced the motherboard of the said unit.

well, as the saying goes, "IF AIN'T BROKE, WHY FIX IT"  Grin

i also had a funny expereince with a sales rep from avant trinoma.  i saw a LG BD-300 and its price is about P 30000++.  so i asked him what's the advantage of this unit to the one with a silver circle on its facelift (BD 370).  the rep replied " ah sir, yung model na nabenta ng P 8000.  ano kasi, mas bago itong 300  at may BD-LIVE"  Shocked  i thanked him and immediately left  Grin
