Hi Marvin, which area will you be staying? If you're Tsim Sha Tsui area, you can try at Harbour City Mall. Inside the mall at the Gateway section, there is a DVD/Blu-ray shop located in the 3F known as Hong Kong Records. The prices there are much cheaper than HMV video store. The address is:
Shop 3320, Gateway Arcade, Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon (Tel: 2175-5700)

Other Hong Kong Records branches:
# Shop L2-01, Festival Walk, Kowloon Tong, Kowloon (Tel: 2265-8299)
# Shop 252, Pacific Place, 88 Queensway, Hong Kong (Tel: 2845-7088)

For HMV addresses:
# G - 1/F, HK Pacific Centre, 28 Hankow Road, Tsimshatsui, Kowloon (Tel: 2302-0122)
# Suite 101, 1/F Central Building, 1-3 Pedder Street, Central, Hong Kong (Tel: 2739-0268)
# Shop No. K3, 1/F Queensway Plaza, Admiralty, Hong Kong (Tel: 3692-4178)
# 1/F, Style House, The Park Lane, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong (Tel: 2504-3669)
# Shop F5-7, 1/F, Telford Plaza I, Kowloon Bay, Kowloon (Tel: 2756 3068)

Good hunting bro. Wink

Hard to say. It depends which tittle. Some are cheaper while some may be more expensive. In general, I'd suggest it's better to buy from Amazon (for US films).

For HK films, it's very hard to find at Amazon. So most of us buy from HK either directly or tru online. Smiley

Hi guys,
I just got back from Hong Kong and had BluRay trip!
It cost me alot though. :/ Sir pchin's recommendation regarding HK Records had some cheaper BDs than HMV but still expensive when compared to amazon and other independent sellers and Astrovision.

More selections though! But nothing you can't find here if you look hard enough.

Here they are:

A grand total of $1,832 Hong Kong Dollars.

or Php 12,824

Definitely more expensive! But I really had fun looking around in HK! Thanks to sir Pchin!

Congrats!! Yup totally agree, its really fun shopping for bd's, especially in hong kong Grin. I also buy in hk records, hmv or cd warehouse (ata, forgot the name). I always buy hong kong movies Wink, or movies that are not out yet in amazon usa. Sometimes some of the movies they sell in hong kong are earlier by a week or two from the actual release date in amazon, so I just buy them Grin. I think there are some stores that sell bd's in mongkok area but I just buy from the ones I mentioned above bec. they are easier to find, more convenient and bec. of lack of shopping time Grin. I wanna spend more time eating the great food there hehe. Grin

hehe. ya Paul they are the best. hk films are kick butt Wink. Ya hk records is a great place to buy, but on my recent trip I checked hmv and they have a big sale. Lots of titles at 109 hkd Wink. To me, great price na, but you can get it cheaper online. One thing in hong kong is you can find blurays that I think are distributed only locally there. You can't find these titles in amazon (maybe you can but from secondary sellers or rarely). I got Robots, Hostage, Crimson River and some others Grin

I think there are some stores in mongkok selling blurays, but I don't have time na to check around hehe.

I usually buy in broadway or fortress (ps3 games, cameras, camcorders etc). They have so many branches. During the 90's and early 2000's (with exchange rate, and prices of electronics in Phils is still so high), the price diff is really huge. As in I have bought some that the price is double here or they still don't have it (ex. sony stores) Well maybe hidalgo have it na.

There is a huge center (with lots of shops, stalls) in Wan Chai where it sells lots of stuff like ps3 games and peripherals etc.. I forgot the name but I think its called 888 shopping center. The landmark is the trade center, but its quite far from it.  But its paradise, If I'm there I may know how to get there but you have to treat me to a ticket, meals etc so  Cheesy Grin, its unrealistic.. haha..Joke joke lang. Maybe you can ask around. Or some here in pinoydvd will know where to get these stuff. These stuff actually are all over the place but of course when you are there you want to maximize and get the best deal.

Check also Sham shui po, they have a huge computer center there. Daming pang dbds Grin

Just ask the concierge in your hotel, I think they will know these places.
