Looks like there's a new player in the local DVD market. I just saw their releases, mostly B-movies from Asylum Home Entertainment, priced at Php 350.
Some of their offerings:
Packaging looks similar to C-Interactive releases. As for the quality? Well, I don't think I'd be buying their current titles any time soon, so I can't comment on this.

From
Wikipedia
:
A
B movie
is a low-budget commercial motion picture conceived neither as an arthouse film nor as pornography. In its original usage, during the so-called Golden Age of Hollywood, the term more precisely identified a film intended for distribution as the less-publicized, bottom half of a double feature. Although the U.S. production of movies intended as second features largely ceased by the end of the 1950s, the term B movie continued to be used in the broader sense it maintains today. In its post–Golden Age usage, there is ambiguity on both sides of the definition: on the one hand, many B movies display a high degree of craft and aesthetic ingenuity; on the other, the primary interest of many inexpensive exploitation films is prurient. In some cases, both are true.

THIS will make me run back to DVD stores which I have pretty much abandoned this year. I love B-movies!
Will report back on quality as soon as I buy a few.

I love B-Movies. Especially those ones with lots of unintentionally funny scenes. Great to watch with the barkada.

indeed. there are some famous movies that was originally intended as a B-movie but because of hollywood agents were so good, they were able to get to be released by major hollywood studio players. the freighteners, starship troopers, torque, idle hands, joe's apartment, american pie are among the movies i know
