i'm sorry but my experience with c-interactive is not good. i had rotting DVDs, misleading labels on the jacket, and inconsistent DVDs.

a friend got a lord of the rings 1 DVD. it was dual layer. he also got me a copy from the same store. it's single layer.

from then on, i either buy through amazon, not buy at all, or resort to something c-interactive won't be so happy about.

thank you for your response, lester.

there was no release of region 1 in the philippines for the first epi of lotr. my friend got a region 3-dvd9 while i got a region 3-dvd5.

i do see the titles that c-interactive releases. in fact, it disappoints me that many of the great movies that i would love to purchase are released by c-interactive. this means that i won't be buying them anymore.

however, i am not closing my doors to c-interactive. if and when c-interactive decides to import the discs rather than manufacturing them themselves then maybe i'll reconsider.

pasensya ka na, pero nasunog na ako ng ilang beses. mabuti sana kung mayaman ako eh minimum daily wage earner din lang ako pero hindi ako bumibili ng pinirata na DVD. while as you have said "we already making our best about this issue..." the money that i have spent for the DVDs became for naught.

what you can probably do, at baka makumbinse ako, is to properly label your discs.

1. indicate if the contents inside is dvd9 or dvd5;
2. indicate the proper audio codec being used -- DD, DTS, DDEX, etc.;
3. indicate the correct audio channels, i.e., 5.1, 2.0, etc.;
4. indicate the correct aspect ratio of the movie, i.e., 4:3, 16:9, 1.85:1, 2.39:1, etc.;
5. indicate the subtitles included (if no subtitle is included, indicate so too);
6. indicate a money-back guarantee, that if any inconsistency -- deliberate, intentional, or not -- between the label and the contents of the disc, as well as defects of dvd-rot is found in, let's say, five years after the date of purchase, c-interactive will gladly replace the whole product with a correctly labelled product or accept a return of product no questions asked, at the customer's sole discretion within a week's time of notice.

i know the last one would be a difficult one, but if c-interactive has improved as to the quality of their products and now believes that it could offer products at par or better than what is released abroad, then i don't see it as a liability. in fact, this could even be a selling point for c-interactive.

what do you say?

I'm not being rude but C- interactive sucks. Your dvds last only one viewing and quality of the casing is mediocre. it seems that your company does not even know to author dvds properly. the quality of transfer to dvds is lacking, video is not clear crisp as opposed to some other dvds that come from other countries. I hope you can just import dvd rather than manufacture them. Even if it will cost us much.

You must be referring to their early releases. Of late (actually beginning around 3 years ago), their products have improved immensely in terms of DVD quality and packaging.

I agree with allanmandy.  C Interactive's DVDs are at par with those of the other distributors.  Many of Dennislazo's suggestion are already in effect.  Most have the DVD5 or DVD9 logo indicated.  And on titles released the last two years, they are DVD5 only if the US original is DVD5 as well.  And very few distributors include both the 3D and 2D version in one package, C Interactive does (My Bloody Valentine 3D), or the widescreen and fullscreen version of the film, C does (The Nativity Story); or the director's cut and theatrical cut version, C does  (The Gospel of John).

Best part of C Interactive, is that save for a few premium titles, they launch their DVDs at a much lower price point.

Their case is subject to debate, it maybe of lower quality plastic, but the nub that holds the DVD is quite solid, and the outer plastic film has fewer creases compared to those used by Magnavision or Viva.

No, I am not connected with C Interactive.  Smiley  It's just that if you equate C with low quality and pass on their DVDs and bought R1, you might be deliberately wasting money...

Sir Lester, would like to ask.

Did C-Interactive got the rights to distribute "The Expendables" locally?

This is my first post in PDVD after a looong hiatus (because of facebook  Cheesy )

I would like to correct the following response

I beg to disagree. LOTR R1 was sold by Astrovision for a limited time. I got my R1 LOTR from them. I dont remember if it was distributed by CInteractive then.  I got my extended LOTR (R1) from friends though.

C-Interactive releases have IMMENSELY improved. My only negative comment is that of the packaging. A little improvement on that aspect would be very helpful  Wink

I really hope dvd rot is only an isolated issue with old c interactive DVDs. My Rush Hour 2 dvd is suffering distorted pixel bought it last 2007.
