I have a problem with my computer's DVD drive.  It started to happen when my computer suddenly stalled about two weeks ago.  I think the computer is alright now, but when I place a disc (CD or DVD) inside the drive, the light blinks for about five seconds, then stops.  I keep waiting for an auto-play prompt like it did before, but none ever appears even after five minutes.  What could be the problem?  My computer could detect it, and the drivers are updated.  Thanks in advance.

How old is your drive sir,
most of the time, medyo maikli lang talaga ang buhay ng mga DVD drive,
and it is one of the most common cause of computer crashes,...

Less than three months pa lang.  Under warranty pa naman kaya binalik ko na muna sa pinagbilihan ko.

I have a similar problem... there is no driver error and the computer can detect it.  But it takes a LOOOOONG time to read the content of the disk.  I can see sometimes the list of files but it will take forever to open/copy the content.

Quickest fix would be to try to check (unplug then plug again) the cables first inside...
