Just got my copy at Astro Greenbelt 5 today.

Inception (2-Disc DVD / 2-Disc Blu-Ray)
DVD = 899
Blu-Ray = 1800

R3 version seems to have second discs for both DVD and Blu-Ray

As posted above, this is 2-discs so there should be special features present. It is just that the special features of the DVD version are less than that of the Blu-Ray version. As is the trend nowadays, the best special features are usually Blu-Ray exclusives, relegating the lesser extras to DVD. Unfortunately, not everyone (like me Embarrassed) can afford upgrading to Blu-Ray yet.

many Filipinos aren't that rich...so Blu-ray disc in the Philippines only have few releases. But if you have that 700 million jackpot you won on the lottery, you can afford Blu-ray

Nope. Just standard Warner release. But the cover is back to traditional offset printing already and not the glossy digital output anymore which makes it look legit rather than homemade.  Smiley

Wow, 1,800 for the 2-disc BD. Good thing I preordered with Lekky. She was offering the 3-disc BD for 1,650.

Yup. The 3-Disc BD in Amazon costs less than the 2-Disc DVD here. They're really pushing everyone in the US to go Blu.

Even if you order from Amazon for just that one title and even with shipping, it would still come out cheaper than 1,800.

I'm not sure yet if I'd settle for the DVD because the US release is a combo pack. If my ancient Samsung BD-P1500 won't play the BD, there's the R1 DVD as a fallback.

Haven't seen the DVD yet but, this is sounding very much like what happened to The Dark Knight DVD release.

My setup isn't high end but Inception looks better than The Dark Knight & here's a review from dvdmg:

Since no one could give me answers. I looked for them myself and here's what I found:

http://www.avforums.com/forums/movies-tv-shows-disc-downloaded/1372636-inception-dvd-picture-quality-terrible.html

Anyone planning to buy the DVD should read this. I'm not sure about the quality in Region 3 DVD's. If ever a recall is done and new DVD's are released, you won't waste 899 pesos. Smiley
