Killing Bono - U2 makes it big and has gone mainstream, while its rival band Shook Up struggles to keep the group together in Dublin, after a series of missed opportunities to make it big and seeing someone else leaving his dream led band lead to do the unthinkable -- kill Bono, kill the dream Smiley

In the end, he sorta got what he wanted be famous -- err, well in some other way though.  but he will always be Bono's doppelgänger Smiley

Supes Marathon:

Superman (Theatrical & Expanded)
Superman 2 (Theatrical & Donner Cut)
Superman 3
Superman 4
Superman Returns
Look Up In the Sky! (The Amazing Story of Superman)

Now that I'm feeling nostalgic, part 4 doesn't seem that bad na. Still, it's the worst of the bunch

Some of my repeat viewings:

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005)-  I enjoy watching this again and again because of its visual treat...just perfect for the story.  Freddie Highmore and Johnny Depp had exemplary performances in this movie.

Spaceballs (1987)- Still gives me the laughs after all these years.  "May the schwartz be with you

Spider-man (2002)- loved the story of the origin but my kid wanted more action.

Spider-man 2 (2004)- my son's interest was tapped in this sequel.  We really enjoyed the building and the train scene.

Hitman Returns

A liked this better than David's first show...awesome performance by EWF, Seal, Natalie Cole and of course my all time favorite Donna Summer. Had goosebumps when the Jackie Evancho from Americas Got Talent sang..simply amazing!

Schindler's list (7 major Oscar awards 1994, including Best Picture and Best Director)

Based on the true story of Oskar Schindler, a German businessman who used his influence to hire Jews to work in his factory and eventually save them from death in the hands of Nazis in World War II.

Definitely one of the best films in our time and would surely leave you misty-eyed.

Bro, I didnt recognize Kenny Loggins.  He looked like one of the European crooks that Bruce Willis would kill in a Die Hard movie.  Hehehe

Jackie Evancho was absolutely effective in simmering down children having tantrums.  Last Christmas, when my nieces and nephews started having all sorts of fit of temper, I gathered those problem kids in the bedroom for "time out" period with Jackie Evancho.  Ayun, instantly very very quiet; more like tulala mode.  Hehehe.  Paulit-ulit nga lang ang playback because ayaw daw nila si Charice.  hehehe.

Pampabata talaga yung 70s 80s and 90s songs.  Hehehe

Godzilla(1998) - mustered some WOW factor with the kids!  This is a repeat viewing for me so I just let them express all the oohs and the aahs!  The discovery of the nest and the hatching  of those baby Godzillas reminded me much of the Raptor scenes in Jurassic Park!  Enjoyed this movie still which made this DVD a worthwhile purchase.  Wink

It's a special effects festival.  Simple entertainment without using much of your neurons.  The best part is that the family enjoyed it specially the kids.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2009) -  The Swedish version had a very good adaptation to the novel.  Good thing I was able to read the book before watching this.  It saved me a 2nd viewing.  Cheesy Noomi Repace had an exceptional performance.  As true as the character in the novel. The sex scene with Blomkvist and Salander was artistically done.  ASTIG! Looking forward to the Hollywood version.

Ako I dont like reading the novel then watching the movie - it's the worst spoiler IMO, not to mention the book version is always richer in terms of story and details  - Jack Ryan movies, Da Vinci code stuffs, etc.  So I prefer it the other way around.

I would suggest that you find the extended millenium trilogy movie (3 hours x 3), then pagkanood mo, read the book.

BTW, maski ba sa book version, tipong mukhang hindi naliligo ang main characters?  hehehe

Bro, actually it isn't my habit of reading the book first before watching the movie.  What I've noticed though is that you get to criticize the movie more after reading the novel.  If you do it the other way around, you'll just accept the movie as is then answer those lingering questions when reading the book after.  Remember that making the movie based on a book takes a lot of editing and sometimes the limitations of the screentime has to take out a lot of important details of the story.  For example, the relationship of Berger and Blomkvist and also Cecilia and Blomkvist wasn't established in the movie.  Whereas in the novel, Blomkvist had sexual relations with both women.  Actually to each his own.  Dami din ako napanood na di nabasa sa novel.  Dami lang nga tanong after kumbaga loopholes.  Cheesy

Bro, naliligo naman yung journalist pero yung punk na babae mukha talagang mabaho.  Grin
