Can I ask something.... 1. Mas mura ba kapag sa US bumili or sa Phils.? 2. Meron bang Region Free na BD Player (can play all regions of DVDs and BDs)? Thanks!

But I can only talk about Panasonic because my one and only BD player is a Panny BD60. Asian version Panasonic players are region-free, DVD and BD. Panasonic US versions must be specially modded to be all-region.

Hi Barrister... I don't have a BD Player yet. Just planning to get one soon (totally newbie to BD world). So meaning, for a BD Player to be region free both for DVD and BD, dapat Asian Version... so it must be bought here sa Phils (pero mas mura kapag sa US bumili kaso US version)?

Hindi pa rin sigurado yon sir.
You need to test para sigurado. And if you're going to test it before buying, dapat sa Philippines ka bumili.
Try shopping at Sights and Sounds Shangrila (owner's account here is "E-reply"). Asian version na, mura pa. Puwede mo pa ma-test.

Thanks... for newbies, ano ba magandang model or brand? Mainly just for DVD (all region) and BD viewing only. I won't be using the online features, I think, since my internet connection at home is kinda slow. And mga how much ba yung BD players normally? Thanks again. :-)

I recommend PS3 if you're a gamer. If not, I recommend Panasonic.
Specific model? Kanya-kanyang preferences yan, e. Start looking at the lowest-end models.
LG is also good. Sony is good but expensive. Samsung has unreliable playback. Pioneer is so slow, halatang Sharp ang laman sa loob.

Thank you. Yes, considering a PS3 too.... good for both gaming and BD watching. But if ever I will get a BD player only, I will check Panasonic brands (since I have a Panasonic DVD HTIB na rin naman, para magamit yung speakers). Thanks again for you reply.

I'm not very familiar with the file formats, but will this play DVD for all regions? Blu-ray as well? Thanks. my unit is a PANA 42C10...

Anyone using a Panasonic BDT-110? Its upconversion is really good has DLNA too but unfortunately I'm not able to play divx files on it. MKV is just fine but Divx is not. Has anyone gotten their BDT-110 to play divx?

sir, maybe your bdp cant recognize divx format, try other dlna software in your media server that can do transcoding on the fly

Sir Barrister, can you recommend a region-free bluray player na Panny, region-free as in both DVD and blu ray?

Sorry, I can't confirm if a model is region-free for both DVD and BD.
You'll have to test it to be sure. Because if it's not region-free for BD, it will take a hardware mod to make it region-free.

I bought my Panny from Sights & Sounds. The service center can set it to region free; ask Vic how much it would cost to make it region free for both DVD and BD.
