Trodt Audio (Mang Rod) or AMX Tube (Andrew Sevilla-Kinetic):

Please share your products experience from our 2 prominent local tube masters.

Which do you prefer and why?

i've tried both, still own a trodt amp, my amx pre amp with 12au7 and el84 integrated amp was sold last year.pareho silang okay mas maayos lang ang wiring ng amx, pero regarding the sound, eh depende sa design ng ciruit and kung anong tube ang nkalagay. pero maganda rin kasi ang mga trannies ni mang rod eh, very subjective kasi, they have different sounds. maganda lang kay mang rod is that pwede kang magpasadya ng gusto mong amp. might as well magresearch ka na lang sir kung anong tube ang magugustuhan mo ang tunog, if you have sensitive speakers eh, you might as well go for, 300b, 2a3 or 6c33c-b, kt88 din. tapos ipagawa mo kay mang rod, at least involve ka sa design na gusto, pati ang kulay eh pwede ka pang mamili at kung anong kahoy ang gagamitin. sa amx naman eh pwede ka ring magpasadya pero the best is mag audition ka ng mga amps nila para malaman mo ang masfit sa panlasa mo.

i have both.
they sound decent & ok naman.
looking inside, medyo mas malinis ang layout ng amx.
i plan to collect at least a sample work from all local tube amp makers, i prefer-baka maging highly collectibles in 30 yrs

i have sample work preamp from edrel na rin.
wala pa ako galing from idol tony, possibly soon

^meron akong tube buffer in a plastic transparent casing...see thru....using either a 5670 or 6H23......

parang maganda rin ung mga printed imported cans for chocolates or biscuits, as possible chassis.
a pre-amp clothed in a biscuit can, para busog na busog ang sound.

para di ot,pede na for my unsophisticated taste
i like my integrated amx kt88 push pull (50W + 50W )
i like my trodt SET amp (SEP?) 5998 (4W + 4W)
i like my edrel's horny preamp (7193?)
i like my own diyd decware el84 (mahalin ang sariling atin

)
i like (will?) my tony's 6B4G amp/or possible phono /linestage pre-amp (

)

Actually sa AMX pwede ka ring magpasadya. He can build you a 500w PA monster coupled to a tube preamp, or a classic PP tube amp. Take your pick.

One advantage of AMX though is that it has been an ongoing business in pro audio and home audio. The metal stampings of the amps look more polished. Also, he can do remote controlled amps, something that Mang Rod does not.

I would suggest check with either both of them (Mang Rod or Andrew Sevilla).

Wala na yata yun Technical Center ng Kinetic sa FTI Complex, yun na lang sa Pioneer Robinson. Nag re-repair/service din ang Kinetic ng Audio Gears. I had my Luxman vintage SS integrated serviced by Kinetic.

Unless, tatapatan ng local makers ang presyo ng mga singkit. Pati panlabas na anyo e nakakabighani na rin. Iba talaga kapag mass production.

i am not sure if you know this guy, he is the go to person when it comes to modding or upgrading mang rod or andrew's creations, even those of rene's.....

i think sa kanya din nagpagawa ng tubes si master nelsondeleon
