Just heard about this video shop from another thread? Is it good as some members say? Dami daw choices sila and also hard to find films. How much din ba membership fee nila? Id appreciate feedbacks, thanks a lot.  Smiley

Howdy!

I've been a member for almost three years. It has the widest selection of videos I know. It's along West Avenue, Quezon City. You may call them 3732936.

There is a lifetime but refundable membership fee. Good luck and hope you'll be part of the club.

The membership fee which is lifetime is P400.00 and also refundable.

If you are looking for rare, classic and out-of-print titles VIdeo 48 is heaven for you just like ebay!

Thanks Reuven for the referral.  Cheesy

Just dropped by last Friday. Quite a lot of selections compared to other video shops not to mention the refundable P400 membership fee. I give it a thumbs up.
The girls there were quite suprised when I told them that PinoyDVD often talks about their videoshop. Kinabahan siguro, but I told them ok lang since the website encourages more people to visit their shop.  Smiley
At least it was worth the visit kahit malayo.

P30 for VHS P60 for DVD, but I think the main attraction there is yung mga VHS talaga and laserdisc a lot of OOP,RARE, and OLD titles. Warning din pala to DVD renters, all theyre stocks are region 3 classified, it would only support Philippine made/bought DVD players.
Anyway I just hope they have as well Dancer in the Dark in VHS/DVD sa kanila bukas. Also looking for some rated titles like Ilsa and Emmanuele series-does any Video 48 member know kung meron sila nito?

I became a member just last month an have just begun to sample the treasure trove that is Video 48. A lot of classics and hard-to-finds are in VHS but a lot are copies of laser discs and DVDs. The DVD list is quite extensive too. Spread the word!

Paano po ba ako makakarating ng Video 48 kung galing po ako ng España? Sulit naman po ba yung lifetime membership na P400? I guess I have to see their film titles... I'm interested...

Maraming salamat po.

Howdy, chard!

You may take any jeep going to Proj. 6 or Pag-asa. Along West Ave., it's on your right side. Left side is a Petron station. You may also call them. See the number I posted above. It's worthwhile if you don't mind going there for titles. They're quite updated and carry massive titles, some rare ones even.

Welcome to the club!

any other video 48 branches?

As far as I know...there's only 1 branch of Video 48 in Q.C.

After renting proceed to Pastry Passion...their tiramisu can beat other pastries in coffee bars.

I was able to rent the Criterion Collection discs of "In the Mood for Love" from Video 48. The digital transfer of the Criterion edition really gave justice to the beautiful cinematography of this film and the bonus features are heavenly!

Some of the newer discs in Video 48 (as in ngayon ko pa lang natiymepuhan): Fritz Lang's "Metropolis" (although not the restored version), Truffaut's "The 400 Blows" (with "Antoine and Collette" in the package), and Resnais' "Hiroshima Mon Amour".

I was able to rent after office hours STRAW DOGS Criterion Collection, SISTERS & CONTEMPT also Criterion Collection.

It's nice to know that Video 48 still survives amidst the difficulty of maintaining a dvd rental shop.

Let's support this fellow members.

Yes, the 400 bucks is a lifetime fee and is refundable. The selection is quite extensive - I live in Manila but the trips I make there are well worth the gas spent. The more discs you rent, the longer they can stay with you. The overdue fees ain't too bad either. (Halatang delinkwente magsoli  Smiley )

Hey. Does this place still exist? Is it reachable via MRT (I live in Makati)? An answer would be appreciated.

If you're coming from Makati via MRT, go all the way to the last stop which is North Avenue (the station near SM City North EDSA). Take a jeep going to Quiapo or anything that'll traverse West Avenue. I think it's less than a mile or so from EDSA and remember to alight at the second signal (there's a gasoline station and an intersection).

What I don't know if they renovated the place since the last time I actually went there was 2004, though I saw that it was still operational when I went back to Manila nung 2005.
