As I was on my Sunday BD marathon, halfway thru watching PIRATES OF THE CARRIBEAN "On Stranger Tides" My player suddenly conked out, stucked, wont stop or can be power off or eject for nearly 15mins so I have to pull the plug out. To my suprised I reload the Disc but it would say "NO DISC", tried to put in different titles in but to no avail it wont just read or detect the BD inside anymore. So is this a sign of Forget It, Get a new player? Or could I have this check out but to my experience on Repairs or Lens alignments of CDPs, DVD players & LDPs before it wot last that long. I connected my old BDP-S300 just to finish my BDs I wanna watch, it just doesnt have DOLBY Tru-Hd & DTS-MA decoding so It was kinda weird  Grin

Any suggestions out there?  Smiley

Any update on what happened to your Sony BD player? Did you have it repaired? I also have the same model but so far, it still plays quite well after almost two years.

Have you tried bringing your unit to Sony Service Center? Sayang naman, mahusay na player yan. Btw, the latest firmware version is 024.

Yes its there already, they charge P800 just for checking it  Angry

If it would be the lens then I may just have to forget about repairing it coz I know it would cost much & you get players nowadays for under 5k , I'm hoping alignment lang ang problema Smiley

What triggered the lens problem? Madalas ka bang mag-movie marathon?

Thats the painful part I watch BDs only on Sundays on an average of 2 films, the most is 5. Sometimes I miss a Sunday if there's an important thing to do. I got the player in 2009.

Triggered? I'm not really sure, was watching ON STRANGER TIDES then halfway the picture stop like it was pause & everything was inoperable (Stop, Eject, Power On/Off) So waited for 15mins for the commands to respond but to no avail it remain as it was so decided to pull the plug out, plugged in & turn it back on but it cant read the BDs or DvDs anymore. I was wondering maybe pulling the plug out directly would have something to do w/ it  Smiley

Got mine in 2009, too. Good for you, you have a back-up player.. ako, wala. Would you prefer to get another Sony player or a different brand this time?

I recently just bought a BDP-S480 from ANYA, its the fastest to get 1 & its also resaonably price.
I also got an older unit BDP-S300 in my bedroom but doesnt have DTS-MA & Dolby Tru-Hd decoding.
If I'll get a new one w/c hopefully soon if I could look around I'll get the OPPO 95  Grin
