i believe so too. it was not huge at the US box office but it made money. the total production cost was at $30M and the final box office results closed at $51M

Also, not all theaters screened this film due to reasons unknown.  

But the income was great, like what happened to Blade 1.

personally, i thought the movie was pretty good ... in a "kindred" kind of way. i'd personally buy it... even if it "flopped".

p.s. "the abyss" and "austin powers" also didn't do well in ticket sales ... but made good in video rentals and home video sales. (thanks mostly to "word of mouth" recommendations.)  Grin

wow... talk about re-awakening a thread... don't think underworld has been released yet as dvd here... but i hope that when they do, they release the unrated/uncut version, as shown here:

I just saw the trailer for Underworld 2.. and I realized I still don't have the first movie!  Tongue

Any updates on when the first Underworld movie will be released locally?
