Meron ako nyan and DD 5.1 lang po hindi DTS. Hindi ko lang alam kung anong edition yung may DTS na Saving Private Ryan, meron ba?

nanghihinayang nga ako sa band of brothers ko dahil dd5.1 lang sya. pero ok na rin. naka ngiti naman ako pag pinapanood ko BOB e.

yung isa DD lang at may behind the scenes.
yung isa naman DTS pero walang behind the scenes.
yung region 3 naman DD at naka separate sa disc 2 yung special features...

Single disc ang R1 - hindi pa kasi uso noon ang double disc.  

Double Disc naman ang R3 dahil common na ang double disc release nang naglabas sila ng R3 version.

Single Disc R1 ang sa akin from PARC.  Ang alam ko, halos pareho lang ang content ng dalawang versions.  Sa kaso ng double disc, nasa disc 1 ang movie at nilipat lang nila sa disc 2 ang features.

Meron talagang DTS version nito.  Ang totoo, mainit na mainit nga ang nakakasawang DD vs. DTS debate nang nilabas ang DTS version.

Some criticisms on the DTS version:

1.  Konti lang ang special features dahil hindi kasya sa disc.

2.  Dating pinagmamalaki ng DTS ang high bit-rate nila na 1536k, pero ni-release naman nila ang Saving Private Ryan sa 768k rate (This was the first DTS title released at 768k, at wala na yatang 1536k ngayon).

Nang lumabas ang Gladiator, pinakita ng DreamWorks na puwede naman palang mag-release sa double disc ng DD-EX and DTS-ES na, loaded with features pa.

I was able to get the Saving Private Ryan 2 disk set during the sale promo dati for only 550.00

Medyo out of topic, pero yung Braveheart merong labas na may DTS track na R3 look for the Superbit release.

My friend was able to get a copy for free when he bought a DVD player. It's a 2-disc set. Disc 1 is for the movie and disc 2 contains the special features.

Are you sure it's Braveheart and not The Patriot?

Ang alam ko, Columbia Tristar/Sony lang ang mga Superbit.

The Patriot came from Columbia Tristar/Sony, while Braveheart came from Icon Productions/20th Century Fox.

I have both the R1 DD single disc and the R3 2-disc sets.

Both are identical except for the fact that the R3 version has an additional DD5.1 Thai language track. I guess the space for the documentary was eaten up by the Thai soundtrack.

Bought one at P550.  Maganda ang contents, kaya lang yung lock ng disk yung hinihila lang.  Parang mababali ang disk pag nalakasan mo.  But ok na rin.

I saw the saving private ryan 60th aniversary edition with cool casing. and i think its in digipak with dts priced at 999.  Kinda strange though, its sez r2 pal on the back

bought the WWII collection at avp sale at P1200. i just noticed in the part after the take-over of omaha beach, the fire in the burning debris have "shadows" extending upto the top of the screen, and overlaps on the soldiers. one i remember is when the two german soldiers surrendering, but were eventually shot by the americans.

this was confirmed also by a friend who have the first dvd release, and also by sir avphile. i don't recall noticing this video problems in the theaters.

Just picked-up 60th commerative edition marked down 50% for P600 at astro glorietta, DTS version. Will view it this weekend. The one disc is priced P400, 50% discount also.

i did notice that as well when i bought this i think a year ago...  its says R2 on the slipcase but on the disc it says R3.

checked it last night, i guess they corrected it, since my slipcase reads R3. however, i maybe wrong. darn label is really small and hard to read on the slipcase.

From my end, it hasn't been conclusively confirmed yet -- just a strong possibility based on a initial assessment from those inside the site. So, no confirmation yet.

Back to topic:

I've been looking for the 60th anniv edition since that's the one with the DTS track. Had to eventually get the 4-DVD release edition from the Astro Podium sale. If only I'd waited just a bit to see that they'd eventually sell the 2-disc standalone edition.
