Hi! I was just wondering has anyone tried ordering from amazon japan? I'm considering ordering a few music cd's and maybe dvd's if they have english subtitles. Does it get here faster? At least we're assured of the same amazon service I hope.

Unless you can read Japanese, it will be very hard to order from Amazon Japan since the site is in Japanese.

try babelfish. you just need to copy the url to the babel fish site and it will refresh the page in translated form.

No Problem naman when you shop at Amazon Japan.  They have English translations naman sa site.  DVD's have english subs and have great packaging and quality.  But are more expensive than R1.

Meron na pala silang English translation.  Noong 2002 kasi (when I made my above post), parang wala pang option for an English translation in their site.  Smiley

It's still a bit difficult to navigate despite the English translations. For example, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest is already available for pre-order. But if you search for "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest" on the site, it doesn't appear in your search results, since although about half of the product descriptions are translated in English, the film's title itself is not.

I guess it takes practice.

I just love shopping for stuff in Amazon Japan, specially in their marketplace. Some OOP stuff (some used, some immaculate) are available (well, yung mga gusto ko anyway Tongue), and sometimes the items are pretty darn cheap, especially if you don't want to bid on Yahoo! Japan...until the prices get marked up by your sources anyway.  Grin
