Recommended Christmas DVDs / What DVDs do you watch on Christmas?

Christmas is almost a year round event at our home that takes a break during Lent and resumes on Easter Sunday.

Although we only have almost two (one is still on its way), these happen to be my daughter's absolute favorites:

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (The Movie)

and we are expecting any time now:

Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (Rankin/Bass) with Burl Ives


Of course a DVD Christmas wouldn't be complete without the ubiquitous James Stewart in "It's a Wonderful Life", but that's still on my wish list.

We'll probably pick up some more Christmas DVD's at Astro in a few weeks. Will post them here as well.

My daughter loves to watch the "Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire" Christmas episode from the Simpsons Season 1 DVD set.  She's turning to be a fan too

 Karamihan sa inilista mo,maliban lang sa Home Alone [wala kasi akong copy]ay nakahanda na for the holiday. Hindi ko pa nga binubuksan. Kaya lang isasama ko na ang Pinocchio dahil katatanggap ko lang ito mula sa Disney. Free lang kasi when I purchased Snow White.

so as to get you more on a holiday mood
and on x'mas eve, we usually have a more interactive ritual , like pictionary, getures, trivia ..drinking, eating..and a lot more of eating!

For Me I have my "Merry Christmas from Vienna", with Placido Domingo, Ying Huang, Michael Bolton and Vienna Symphony Orchestra, in 5.1 digital, from Astro for 1K last Nov. in preparation for X mas and when I open it was made by Sony and came from US, and for d New Year  I will play Timeless by Barbra. May we all have Merry DVD Christmas and Happy New DVD  Year to ALL.....

such a great movie...i always make it a point to watch this every year. but my wife doesn't have the patience to watch it completely...kaya tuloy ang na-abutan lang ya palagi..eh yung paghihirap ni George Bailey. so to her this movie is very depressing....

I know what you mean. But I say to the people who say this is that its part of the whole theme of the movie, and you have to watch the whole movie to appreciate it.

Actually ang wish kong DVD (na wala pa) is a Perry Como Christmas DVD.  Yuon kasi ang madalas namin pinapatugtog during this season lalo na with his narations.  Pero wala pa.

Para maiba eh Blackadder's Christmas Carol.  Hanep sa kakaiba ito. Blackadder (Scrooge) starts off as a good person but eventually become bad when he is visited by the Ghost of Christmas.

nightmare before christmas.

They're showing it at a  drive-in moviehouse at the fort bukas, Dec 14. Sayang nga lang di ko magagamit ang ticket/carpass to the screening. So i'm just giving it away. I haven't tried that drive-in movie sa fort so I don't know kung saan talaga doon. I-check ko mamaya yung carpass/ticket.

just got this from the grapevine:

For immediate release: "Because of an adverse court ruling against Fox in a copyright infringement case regarding Jingle All The Way, we are stopping deliveries of Jingle DVDs and videotapes until the pending matter can be resolved. Fox is prosecuting an appeal.. In the meantime, however, all DVDs and videotapes of the title that you have available for sale should immediately be removed from distribution. We will inform you when we resume taking orders and shipping the title, but we do not anticipate making further deliveries this year."

bently- That's sad to hear.  I only have the VHS copy of it and wanted to watch the DVD itself this christmas but then can't find any DVD copies in video shops in Manila even on rental stores. :-/

Call Me Claus starring Whoopi Goldberg is quite ok din for a Christmas flick.    

Pero siguro kung family fun ang gusto ninyo, yung mga bagong release this December ay ok na rin:   Back to the Future, Lilo and Stitch, among others.

I plan to totally hibernate this Christmas. Lock myself in my room and watch tons of DVD. If things work out (meaning, the orders come in on time), I intend to gorge myself on:

LOTR Extended Version
Star Trek III: Special Edition
Sapphire and Steel Adventures 1-3
Buffy the Vampire Slayer (maybe seasons 1-2)
Star Trek: The Next Generation (maybe seasons 1-2)

Holidays, here I come!
