i saw dodgeball (uncut) last friday at astrovision.  it was in a nice packaging and was being sold for 750...
forgive me if this was discussed before, but are there any differences between the r3 and the r1 versions?

Yeah, sa packaging din ako nagandahan.  Dahil Uncut & Extended version sya.  Pati na rin sa film mismo ang ganda super to the max ang tawanan.

Bought this for P333 in the recent Astro Plus sale and it's a real steal.  Loved the movie and the special features. I find the alternate ending weird though. I don't know if the director meant it as a joke or that's really his intended ending.

The Alternate ending is somewhat too simple, parang kulang yung "BAD" ending.

The "alternate ending" (the director's intended ending) would've been such a joke. An underdog story with the underdog remaining the underdog--gumawa ka pa ng pelikula, wala namang pinuntahan. I understand how the audience might not like it, though.

The "alternate ending" is a joke (and a rather funny one, IMO), as is the displayed commentary track (less funny, involves Vaughn, Stiller and the director getting drunk, fighting, and ultimately walking out, forcing "interns" also voiced by Stiller and Vaughn to play the commentary track to There's Something About Mary instead). There are 2 real commentaries though (one with cast, one with director), which are available as easter eggs.

i envy you people.  i also saw a copy of this in one of the malls here in manila and the packaging is really reminiscent of a r1 title.  really wanted to get it dahil i kinda liked the movie kaso some idiot used the slipcase
as a sort of "patungan".  maybe this idiot conducted an inventory kaya ayun, the slipcase was full of marks from
his or her pen writing.  ang pangit tuloy nung slipcase.  ang sarap upakan nung gumawa nuon.  the store was oddyssey and their salesladies seem to have a knack for doing this kind of thing kasi they almost did it again when i scored the hell freezes over dvd from them...
