i just read from a thread by Mr. Hankey about the release of Ice Age: Extreme Cool Edition (2-Disc) here in the local market this month of april......to those who have already gotten this, reviews naman please......   thanks in advance......

saw this last night at astroplus sm north, the art work is a little different from the single disc release, too bad i just recently bought the regular issue

Does this edition have a DTS track? The original single disc version has kasi, although it's not indicated at the back.

is this the new release or the old release?  for the old release, all releases has no DTS track. for the extreme cool edition, Fox has added DTS in all releases.

God! I'm gonna sound stupid after this. I checked out my Ice Age original version last night. Wala palang DTS track. Nyek! Na-imagine ko lang yata or I was confusing it with some other DVD na di naka-indicate na may DTS, pero meron (Monster's Inc. yata). Sorry for wasting your time!

Yes, locally released Monster's Inc. has DTS that is not listed at back cover. It replaces the commentary track.

Got this at the recent ASTRO WALTERMART Sale for P333, mas decent and "cool"
ang representation ng special features and disc art, although halos the same lang contents
compared to the single disc release dati... and the Extreme Cool Edition has Tagalog subtitles... nakakatuwa

The following sites give the differences between the two releases -- some special features are unique to each edition. (These are of the R1 releases, by the way, but from what I understand they mirror the R3 versions.)

Grab a copy of this 2 disc ed kung may makita kayo na sale kase sulit talaga. Pag mga cg movies kase talagang sagad ang linaw and audio quality kase digital halos lahat walang dumi or anything like sa film transfer. Rave din reviews ng disc na to sa dvd talk. Pero hindi naman lahat ng mga cg movies ganito karamihan lang.

sana nga meron pa nito, the last copy i saw was at tower records sm pampanga, selling for 350 i think, sayang, wala na ata. i should have bought it

Because I already own the first single disc release, I didn't consider this Extreme eidition a priority during the last Tower Sale last May.  I might get when I see one now.
