Million Dollar Baby?

Any news if this will be released locally? Especially the 3Disc DE. Since Warner is going all the way this year, I really hope they continue distributing good titles in quality packaging (Constantine DE, upcoming A Very Long Engagement)...

If the film is release here in the Philippines under Warner Bros. definitely it will have a 2 disc DVD release.  As for the 3 disc edition.  I don’t think so.

As usual the mor edisc the better. Welcome a 3-disc edition but I agree with baby that this may not materiaze but let's hope something better will be released such as a LE??

when i was at astroplus podium last friday for the big dvd sale, i vaguely remember seeing a million dollar baby banner at the entrance. didn't notice a release date though. i hope someone else who was at the sale can confirm this.

i'm not sure, but the banner states its going to be released by C-Interactive... but i'm not sure...

Million Dollar Baby is indeed released by C-Interactive. As far as i know, it is only released in VCD format. (with slip case for 275)

If you want to have the DVD, especially the 3disc set, i suggest you get it online.

Ive noticed with C-interactive (VCDs) not sure with DVDs, havent seen one yet. Medyo bright ang tone ng picture. Nakakaturn-off. Parang luma ung dating ng pelikula.

Ok sana ung "the notebook" kung Warner ang nag-release (New Line), and "Love Actually" kung Magnavision.

I saw the DVD of Million Dollar Baby and it used to sell for 475. now its 299.

How is it in terms of picture quality and features? Sulit ba ang 299?

I got this title for 299 (2 disc), pero diko pa siya nabuksan. Will try this weekend to see the movie if i will have time and post updates

Sir Hemi, you are right this is the 2 Disc full screen  Na excite ako nung nakita ko na 299 and two disc did not check na kung full or wide screen.  Anyways mura na din dahil two disc.

can anyone describe the PQ of this release? the R1 release is likewise dark and not so clear. pardon my ignorance but i think this is the director's intent.

Sir Hemi, when I watched the movie madami siya na parang small boxes na pinag dikit dikit. I am not sure what the term for this is (grainy yata). Yung transfer rate niya if I am not mistaken is less than 5 mbps in most part of the movie.  Compared to other titles na very fine yung picture.

i think this film was released by New Line Cinema in Asia hence the dvd is released by Regal/C-interactive who is their local representative.
OT: How can we expect people like Mother Lily to care about how films are being released on dvds when  even our classic films have deteriorated beyond repair. One thing i have always noticed about local films is that they all look alike when it comes to the lighting and cinematography. The one exception was Rizal and that film has yet to be released on dvd.

The DVD cover looks nice (for a C-interactive release) i give them 4/5 for that, except for the fullscreen label. Almost identical to the R1.

But, if the content itself, PQ is like a low-end VCD copy feel. No thanks nalang.
