Hi to bardigones & (belatedly) jobseeker,

Please drop by the katipunan shop to register for membership.  For membership applicants who live/work/study within the vicinity of UP-Katipunan, QC, we simply charge P30 for the ID.  For those outside the coverage area, we charge a minimal membership fee of Php100.  Or you may opt for the rent-all-you-can DVD subscription (details at the start of this thread).

UP members may rent at the Katipunan branch (or vice-versa) by simply presenting your G-video ID and filling out the branch's registration forms -no ID fee and no other requirements needed.  The staff will just verify your file from the other branch.

Thanks for your interest.  Hope to see you at the shop soon!

Just wondering, how many days do you get to loan a DVD? I live nearby but I work in Makati and do not usually go home early. If they close at 10, it's too early for me to stop by after office (yes, I'm a slave ..hehe)

we've been talking how most dvd rental shops have come and gone. it's time to put our money where our mouth is. this shop has just recently opened (again) in katipunan. so for those near the place, time to show our support.

message from the owner:

Quote
Hi guys,

It's sad to know that a lot of video shops renting out original DVDs have closed down.

G-video shop (Katipunan area) is trying to keep afloat during these trying times for business. PM or email me at gvideonet@yahoo.com, if interested, and we'll try to work out a scheme where you can avail of distance DVD rentals. Will send you the updated DVD list too.

Thanks!

I remember posting that message at one of pinoydvd.com DVD RENTAL threads last June. The truth is, I almost closed the shop during this semestral break. But I do not have the heart to do it, so here I go again... relaunching the shop, currently repainting the walls and will also try to beef up the DVD stocks with new release titles.

G-video will re-open as an ALL-DVD rental shop this weekend, November 9, Friday.

At the momemt, we're trying to figure out our new rates, such as for the membership and monthly subscription fees. Rental will now be reduced to Php20 (same price as VIDEO CITY just across the street). Also considering EXTENDED rental duration, like one to two weeks (depending upon the number of DVDs borrowed). Or perhaps, rental by courier service like NETFLIX.  I wish to solicit your suggestions please... hope you could take the time to reply here.

Thanks

as i've said, they actually opened already... so you can just email them for the new pricing scheme and complete dvd list.

G is a very nice person. The store also had one of the widest array of dvds in the katipunan area.

Is this still open? I used to be a member way back in Katipunan. The shop had a very good selection of classic movies that I wasn't able to finish watching.
