keep case... hands down winner!! snappers are nice coz they are different but they are a pain to keep... madaling maluma, prone to scratches and eventually lumuluwag ang lock... and worst of all: irreplaceable... unline keep cases... easily available and once napalitan mukhang bago ulit dvd mo...  |

excuse my stupidity in advance. i'm new in the world of dvd collecting ... but what exactly are keep and snap cases? i can't figure it out just reading the above posts. are keep cases the cardboard ones where it folded into itself twice and snap cases the plastic ones which, erm, "snaps" when it opens and closes? i bet you're wondering what i'm doing here at pinoydvd.com... |

most of warner titles are snap cases. mas malaki sya (in width, pero di obvious) compared to keep cases. keep cases usually have thicker cover kase yun lang ang protection niya.
keepcases yung nakikita mong very common sa stores and sidewalks.

i think the days of the snapper case is ending read that warner sold its dvd unit to another company. hope this company reissues all the titles previously released in those damn snappers like the Matrix |

Now that the Keep or Amaray style case has won Warner over, there's a dearth of snapper cases around, making the "rare" find of a snapper case among store shelves a little serendipitous - it's almost like the snapper cased DVD's are talking to you saying "I'm the genuine article, buy me!!"But then, if it's still a movie you don't like, waxing nostalgic on a snapper case (hurry, pick them up, while they're still around to show the grandkids, hehehe  ) won't make the movie any better. Some Warner titles are still available in both snapper and the newer keep cases. Personally, given a choice with all things equal, I'll take the older stock snapper case to go with my 7 year  collection of Warner snappers. Just a thought. Pardon the ranting... it's probably just the seven year itch! |

I'm starting to miss those snapper cases. There are just so few warner tites in them these days. The first genuine DVDs I got were on snappers. And if the title is not 2-disc editions or doesnt' have inserts, it can easily be mistaken as pirated stuff. |

agree. there is a thread here teaching you on how to properly safekeep your snapcase. all my snapcases are protected this way. wrapped carefully just like a book. On another note, i bought the iron giant on snap case for 299. yipee. |

i'm a sucker for snapcases!! even those people ranting before can't convince me to dispose my snapper casings. look at warner releases nowadays, they look like p*rated ones!  |

True, there are no lousy snapper cases, are there? Unlike those amaray cases which some distributors put into the cost-cutting knife, resulting in wrinkled plastic covers. No wonder Warner eventually gave in to the pressures. They can cost save on cheap amaray cases, but might have difficulty doing so in snappers.
