I think it was in 2001 when I upgraded from my VHS player. My very first DVD was Jurassic Park (can't remember the price offhand). I remember being blown away by how clear and sharp the image was.

Gossip (Kate Hudson).  Bought it when I went to the states around 2001 - bought a Sony DVD  player as well and lugged it home.  Grin

first dvd player pioneer dv-515 circa 1999, buhay pa (cranky tray loader and all), mag iisang dekada na. bought it pa sa ambassador appliances. 14,500 pesos! first dvds eagles and bee gees in concert bought from amazon.

the first dvds i bought was in thailand. naka sale kasi yung the "corruptor" and "spy game". i was more into buying cds and vcds back then (many years ago  Grin when i was still based there). i still have them until now not knowing that i will be shifting collection to dvds!

last year the first dvd i  got was "the cave" but it was the "300 giftset" that really launched my dvd collection i got this together with "daredevil director's cut", "sin city", "resident evil 1 and 2" Grin

The very first DVD I had came from the US. Chitty Chitty Bang Bang at Reservoir Dogs sabay. Pero ayaw ko yung binigay gusto ko yung binili so kung ganun ang unang DVD ko ay Drunken Master II. hehe

Nasagot ko na to before but here goes again --

Nabili ko sa sale ng Video City sa Alabang Town Center, mga rental dvds before,

1)  The Wedding Planner
2)  Sudden Death
3)  What Planet Are You From?

Then after that, I bought my very first brand new DVD,  BATMAN BEGINS.  A 2 discer from Warner.

And then, close to about a thousand DVDs after that!

My 1st Region 3 DVD is "The Fifth Element" from Astrovision in 1999. I bought it out of curiosity 2 months before I purchased my 1st DVD player!
After that, I got my first three region 1 DVDs as second hand, "Patriot Games", "Clear and Present Danger", and "Dances with Wolves".
