Jeckjeck,

I get my DVDs sa QCPO. Matagal na kumukuha ako doon. So I doubt nawawala diyan sa kanila yung DVDs , baka sa Royal Logistics ang may problema.  The missing discs were single disc orders, baka madali ipuslit ng mga #$%#!

Got my Schindler's List Collector's Gift Set from amazon at QC Central PO at NIA road....I didn't have to pay anything. This was shipped last Feb. 12 via expedited intl. shipping. ETA was Feb. 28 - Mar. 8. I received the postal notice (considered local small package) yesterday. The package has the stamp of Royale Logistics Phils. They mailed it from the Pasay Central PO last Feb 22 via P80 speed post and stamped received by QC PO last Mar. 2. Picked it up this morning around 8am. The lady in counter 37 was nice and just handed me my package. She just reminded me that if the declared value exceeded $50 it would be taxed. Declared value on my package was $36. Even the customs man was in a jolly mood...I was in and out of the PO in less than 5 mins.

I pre-ordered a CD from a US record label's online store, and the package will come with a t-shirt and a small booklet. The total was US $29.90 (incl. shipping). It'll ship on the 13th of September, and may arrive within 2-5 weeks. I was wondering if there was anybody here who knew if bulky packages like this would be delivered directly to my doorstep or if it'd be held up at the post office, and if so, would I be charged for taxes, etc.?

Thanks!

It's only $29.90, so really... it's up to the whimsy of the postal inspector.  Roll Eyes You'll most likely have to pick it up at the post office, though.

The site should have given you the option to go door-to-door, in which case you would be charged additionally.  I've ordered from amazon in the past opting for courier service (DHL if not mistaken) and the charges vary based on destination.  Quite expensive.  Otheriwse, I think the default is postal, so you'd have to claim the package from the post office nearest you.  You'll get a notice.

Thanks! This is the only the second time I've ordered online (my first was with Amazon, and the package was sent staright to my house), so I'm getting a bit jittery, especially upon seeing on this forum that the dues may cost up to a thousand bucks. Thanks again!

here's my experience with MCPO...

i've ordered online from cdconnection.com and amazon.com, both shipped via USPS and arrived at MCPO in about 3 weeks. yung unang order ko ay 4 na CD and i was being taxed. sabi ko hindi ko alam na may rule na maximum of 2 cd/DVD lang. so pinatawad ako Cheesy next orders ko, tig-dadalawa lang, P30 lang ang ibinayad ko Wink (P20 nga lang before price increase)

Sir, how long does it usually take for an order from Amazon UK to ship here... I shipped using the cheapest international shipping.

Amazon UK is pretty fast. I always use the cheapest shipping option ("Royal Mail"), and I literally had one order which I placed on a Monday, which arrived AT MY DOORSTEP on Friday, no taxes due!

I'd say on average though... 1-2 weeks. In the last six months, the longest one took 23 days.

A friend bought me a dvd from Amazon UK and shipped it to my Makati office address. Do you think it'll be taxed? One dvd lang naman, 1disc pa  Grin  Its been so long since I've tried airmail to Makati, usually kasi sa province para no charges whatsoever   Wink

Not really sure, man. I've heard horror stories about the Makati PO in the past. I've never had to deal with them yet.

Hi, a bit OT.  just wanna have your opinion. A relative of mine in Tampa, Florida is planning to send a 12lbs package(chocolates and candies) via mail. Is it safe to do this. And how much would be the tax/charge on my side of the PO. I live in makati.

For Ortigas addresses, you will have to get your packages at the Pasig Post office near the Capitol dun sa may bayan.  Kinda inconvenient.  Pero madalas nakakalusot sa tax.  But this was like in 2004 when i had my last package delivered to my office address in Ortigas.
