Loved the movies but when I purchased these two titles, they were big disappointments! Saw 1 is presented in Full Screen, Stereo and NO subtitles recorded! The second disc is a waste having only a couple of short features and music videos. Saw 2 improves by having a 5.1 track but still NO subtitles. Saw 2's special features had crispier pictures than the actual movie itself. Both movies in DVD5 discs. Siguro ok lang kung P199 lang, pero theyre priced at P375. I don't mind the poor packaging sa mga 'to, sana lang maganda ung laman. Ung p**ated nga may subtitles e.

Very disappointing. Sayang ung ganda ng movie.  Undecided Oh well, another lesson learned.

Yeah, for VIVA releases, unless it's a Fox or Disney title, buyer beware. Be particularly cautious if it's priced below 750 on initial release (non-sale price) - almost all of those are fullscreen DVD5s with VHS quality, no subtitles, and with minimal (if any) features.

I was thinking of the same thing. Perhaps we could go to Viva directly to have them exchanged/returned/refunded. The retail stores do not have any faults about this matter, I assume. Anyone here know Viva's office?

A VCD copy would be better. Or R1s.

Same thing here. I bought "Lord of War" and "New Police Story" thinking there's subtitles in both. Wala. And pangit pa pq, parang VCD lang.  Angry . AND to make it worst, got each for 375.

I just wish there are more DVD rental shops out there for us to review/see the contents of the DVD before getting ourselves a copy of our own.

check the hitcher, it has far superior quality than the saw. and for 150pesos, who can go wrong. i believe it is a mirror copy pa of the R1, except than its in keepcase, unlike R1 na in snapcase. highly recommended. i like the film, obvious ba? hehehe.  Grin

Widescreen po ba ang nakalagay na aspect ratio sa print ng saw 1 and with DD aor DTS audio track included?  o talagang wala sila nilagay? kasi kung naglagay sila na widescreen version yun tapos hindi naman ganun!! Huh well, it's a good example of misrepresentation.. tsskk..tskk... :'(

Don't know about Saw 1.  Saw 2 has nothing written on the back, no screentype, sound-type..nothing, just movie description and Viva.  Theoretically, they didn't misrepresent (unlike An Unfinished Life where the listed is wrong by 40 minutes).

But we should boycott these budget titles that don't measure up, they are DVD5, and since most are fullscreen, even worse than Magna Budget titles... at least with Magna, they are Widescreen... Don't know about picture quality since I don't have a gigantic theater setup where those low-bitrate encoding flaws are more visible...

BTW, I didn't buy Saw but got duped by The Unfinished Life...

Saw 1 and 2 DVD is crap.  What about Saw 3 and 4 DVD?  I've already seen all 4 and want to own the entire set.

i have saw 1 - 3 from viva. it's all crap! don't buy this.

saw 1 is a 2 disc set. however it's not widescreen.

saw 2 and 3 are also not widescreen. SQ and PQ for all are crap same with all other viva releases with the viva logo printed at the back.

but i guess if you will watch it on a regular '21 TV without the 5.1 - 7.1  pwede na.
