I use vobblanker to split a dvd-9 into 2 dvd-5s. Here is the website

http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm

there is a guide on the site on how to use the program.

Do you just want to save certain parts of a movie with subtitles? If yes, you can use the re-author mode of DVD Shrink. Choose the movie and select what part of the movie you want to save.

You can still use DVDshrink to save space on your HDD or DVD Decrypter use the file mode and place it in the directory you like and play the video_ts.ifo file and it should play on PowerDVD if you have it installed.

Apologies for re-using this thread.  I think my query doesnt need to start a new one.
