C-Interactive Releases: How many do you own/comments?

Guys,

I went to Astro Virra Mall this morning and got a copy of Into the Arms of Strangers. While I was there the salespeople offered me 4 titles from C Interactive for P300.00 (The Family Man, The Gift, and 2 more - can't recall the titles, sorry...)

I know of C Interactive's reputation (or lack of it) but  being a sucker for a bargain, I got The Gift, since the other 3 titles didn't interest me...

Sama talaga ng cover, pati yung pag print sa disc hindi maganda. Mas maganda pa yung sa mga bootleg hehehe!

i understand your distaste for the cover art of these disks, but please don't discuss p-disks (or p-disk cover art) here, baka magalit ang mga mods sa atin.

aminado naman tayo, pangit talaga ang cover art ng mga disk na yan, pero legal naman, pasensya na lang.

Actually, bro, hindi ko pa nabubuksan. Na-enganyo lang ako sa presyo kaya ko binili. Dami pa akong DVD na hindi nabubuksan, eh.

saw this titles in Astro ATC and from the looks of it hindi nga masyadong maganda yung cover page...but it could still pass for P300 bucks!

Just for the heck of it, I went out and bought Little Nicky since it was just P300.

Grabe...

The first copy I got (yes, I had to return the damn thing several times), had pixelizations all over, then it would just stop.  I thought it was just a factory defect, so I'll return it, no problem.

The next disc I got, wouldn't even play at all.  All I got was a message on my screen "DVD cannot be played".

Of course I returned it again.  Third time's a charm coz the last copy I got finally played.  Wierd though coz the disc itself was labeled as region 1 while the cover says region 3.

Personally IMHO, getting to save by purchasing a cheap P300 DVD shouldn't be this much hassle.

c interactive is the same company that brought out the region 1 lotr, right? dapat siguro puro region 1 na lang ang i-release nila

I guess if they release region 1 titles, okay lang yung quality.  Like, LOTR was great.  But if it's region 3, you'll be better off looking somewhere else.

it's sad to know that it also happened to you.  I was hoping for everyone's sake that mine was just an isolated case.

know what?  the last copy I got which I thought I finally got to work, stopped working last night.  as in, it just refused to play.  napapagod na ako sa kaka-balik ng DVD ko.  I think I actually already spent more for gas than for the DVD itself.

baka chalk it up to (bad) experience na lang. at least, from now on, i know to stay away from anything that has c interactive on the box.

btw, subtitle, yung LOTR was imported directly not produced by this d**n company. hindi naman nila pwedeng sirain yung mga disk by just sticking on their name tag, di ba ? (or can they...?)

I saw this add in "The Inquirer" that C-Interactive is gonna release A Walk To Remember On all formats, and the DVD only costs 450 pesos. Even a promo was formed (limited poster or button pin) for only a limited time.


I thought Warner was gonna release the movie in all formats ?

I earlier posted that I bought a copy of C-Interactive's Little Nicky and that after sevaral copies, the *#@! thing still wouldn't play.

I returned the disc for the nth time and the saleslady finally told me to just choose another title, from the catalog of ANOTHER company, since they think that C-Interactive's discs most probably won't play at all.

Sayang naman yung A Walk to Remember kung ganoon.

Saw the following R3 Fullscreen DVDs for only 299 from C-Interactive at Astroplus Podium:

Van Helsing (FS)
Intolerable Cruelty (FS)
Chronicles of Riddick (FS)
The Notebook (WS)

with Full Features (according to the label).

unfortunately, them putting labels that say "includes full features" is a turn off for me.

I bought Rush Hour 2 DVD from C-interactive for P199,

i was surprised to see that it has no subtitles and special features

In Astro Podium, the 299 version of The Notebook was listed as widescreen.

I had read that the major film companies intend to offer legitimate DVDs at cut-rate prices in China in order to combat piracy. (See http://www.wsjclassroomedition.com/archive/05may/medi_piracy.htm) I wonder if these Fullscreen DVDs at 299 are the fruition of this plan.
