i've been a paypal member for over 3 years already and haven't had any problems with their service. the problems i encountered are those with ebay sellers.
my golden rule based on my experience -- buy only from reputable companies selling on ebay and don't purchase from individuals. good luck guys!

When dealing with individual sellers on eBay always check their ratings.

For me, I always make it a point to deal with sellers who have 98% upwards positive rating. I check the feedbacks of the previous clients and see if they are totally or superiorly satisfied with the seller. I also check what their negative ratings are isf any and how the seller dealt with it kasi naman maybe kaya lang nagkaroon ng negative rating not entirely of the sellers fault. There are also buyers on eBay who are really so unreasonable and can be complete jack asses.

safe. i even had a payment return na ( i use HSBC ) sa aking card kasi nagka dispute kami ng isang seller sa ebay and nanalo ako, paypal handled the dispute pa, wala akong ginawa kundi nag complain lang sa kanila

register first your credit card with paypal at paypal.com then you can check-out and pay your purchases with paypal from any merchant which allows this in their check-out website..

no need to fill up the billing info because you already have that in your paypal account.  what you have to fill up will be the shipping address if it is different from the billing address..

Just your purchase.. the seller will have to pay service charge to Paypal..

You have to get verified right away though. Because if your card isn't verified, you'll be have a sending limit of $100 (total).

In case I dilly-dallied with the verification process and got 'cursed' with a $100 sending limit, what's my way around to get a higher sending limit?

how will we know if the paypal code was sent to you? already 3 days still no paypal code, hindi ba makikita ang code sa account balance natin, am i right?

you'll get the code in your billing statement, at least thats how i got mine around last year

wala akong credit card pero ok ang paypal kasi they accept my unionbank visa debit card.

You can also get the code via your online banking website. I signed up 2 days ago and got mine today

IMHO, PayPal is one of the safest way to shop online. Have a good number of transactions through PayPal.
Yun nga lang...lugi ka sa dollar conversion kasia ng mga banks may patong sa regular $ rates.

Puwede mo pa transfer sa bank account mo for a fee..

^But if I remember it correctly pag more than $10 ang ililipat mo there is no charge (unless your bank asks for a service charge). Kasi that's what I did when someone paid me sa PayPal, had it transfered sa BDO bank ko and kumpleto naman (walang tax or service charge).

Hello everyone, I really want to buy dvds on ebay (US). Where I live there is a BDO and China Bank. Do I have to use a credit card or can I use some other account? What type of account should I have to sign up for Paypal?

I talked to someone in China Bank but she had no idea what I was talking about lol.

As far as I know there are only 2 options na tinatanggap ng PayPal right now, credit card and Unionbank Debit Card.
You really have to have either of these 2 in order for you to complete your registration.
You can only use a bank account when withdrawing money from you PayPal account.

The shipping address is in the United States (c/o Johnny Air), but the default country (i.e, Philippines) would not disappear in the shipping address. It would always appear at the end of the US address. It woud look like Johnny Air NY, United States, Philippines. Do you guys know how to delete the PH in the address?

Your shipping country will always also be the country which issued your credit card that you registered with PAYPAL.

What store are you trying to purchase from? I can use my paypal account to order stuff and have it shipped to a U.S. address. All the credit cards I registered with them are locally issued. I have not encountered that same problem where it defaults to Philippines.

It's in Yahoo Shopping(Skin-One), I was originally going to pay through Paypal but I could not get around the default PH thing, so I paid with my credit card instead. I'm planning to buy something again, this time on Ebay. I want to figure out first how to solve the shipping address because he only accepts Paypal. Do you think it's different for every site? But the thing is you input the address on Paypal not on the seller's site, so I figure the problem is on Paypal and not on the store.

In my experience, it's on the seller's site where I input the shipping address. On the payment part, I just choose Paypal. I login and confirm payment and that's it. I've also used it on ebay and it works the same way. I don't know if they changed the process, but that was just last month when I used their service.

some sellers especially on ebay will not accept any other shipping address except that registered on your paypal account.  you can however email the seller if he does accept any other address other than that on Paypal..
