If the planned street date is as scheduled on 14 November 2006, then selling at .Biz officially starts on 13 November 2006, Monday, at 12:01 AM  Smiley.  This will allow the .Biz buyers to receive the DVDs on the same day as the physical store buyers.  Wink

PinoyDVD.biz will be giving out stylish Superman metal dog tags packed in a neat metal case with a full color superman logo on top  Cool.  The dog tags are imported and are not sold locally.  I will post an image here once available.  Note that this offer is exclusive to .Biz.

But wait, there's a catch Wink.  The dog tags are in "very" limited quantities. Since we cannot accommodate all pre-bookings, the offer is on a first purchase/first served basis.  Figuratively, the early bird catches the worm.  In addition, the offer is exclusive to Superman: The Ultimate Collection buyers only.  As much as we would like to give everybody the freebie, there's really less to go around with.

Any estimated quantities for the dog tags?   Smiley

Maybe the tags should be reserved on a 'first-reserve, first serve' basis, which seems fairer to the prebooking campaign, and sale could commence say a couple of days before launch (DVD will still be ship the day-prior to launch and arrive hopefully on launch day as before).  And that reservations should be converted to sales TWO days before launch, if not then it will be released to other buyers on the day before launch.  That's seems more in the spirit of the prebooking campaign.  Just my two cents...

I think that's the system they used for Poseidon 2disc.  The whistle thingy was reserved for those who prebooked first.

As promised, below is an image of the stylish Superman metal dog tags referred to earlier.  The dog tags image is an exact match of the actual products but I can’t say the same for the case.  The top Superman logo should look like Routh’s Superman costume.  Cool

As for techdude’s suggestion, we will consider this again in future pre-booking promos.  When we were told the the freebies were in very limited quantities, we only came up with two immediate alternatives.  The first one was a raffle type promo and the other one, which eventually won, was the first buyers promo.  The swing vote for the latter was that it allowed the “winner” to receive the freebie on the same day as his/her order.  Wink

Looks like there will be a mad dash for the PinoyDVD website 12:00:01AM on the 12th of this month. Smiley  To me, this is certainly better than a poster...

Correction lang techdude.  Its actually 12:01 AM on the 13th and not on the 12th of November.  Premeditated ba ang error? Grin

Since there is no reservation fee in .Biz (unlike in Astro stores), I think this suggestion of "first-reserve, first serve" basis is quite unfair. Anyone can simply reserve even those without intentions to really buy. Tama na yung first-buy first-serve basis ni randy.

My suggestion is that first reserve, first serve is that it would spur reservations, and that these will have to be turned into sales in one day (hence the two day advance sale unlike the present day before launch).  If not, then reservation would be cancelled and probably prevented from availing of future sale promos.  But it's up to PinoyDVD to decide what way they think is best for all concerned.

As to number of dog tags, my guess is that it's a trade secret and best for PinoyDVD to keep it close to their chest. Smiley

And on my posting of November 12, maybe I got my dates mixed up, thanks for correcting me, or else, I would be waiting the whole early morning of the 12th for PinoyDVD to start accepting sales of the Ultimate edition. Cheesy

Just made my reservation yesterday in Astro Glorietta. I don't have account yet with pinoydvd.biz so it's a little dissapointing that I would not get the dog tag. Are there any freebies if we reserve thru Astro?  Wala kasing indication dun da poster nila eh.

It's easy to create an account, all you need is a valid email address.  You don't even need to have a credit/Megalink card as PinoyDVD now accept bank deposit as payment.

I have some bit of good news regarding the .Biz promo.  If you are not one of the first few buyers to get the Superman Dog Tags, you might be one of the remaining ones to get the Superman Pewter Key Tag. Cool  It’s also made of metal and fully imported as well.  Quantities are limited, so first purchase/first served still applies.

Wooaaahh! Nice Grin Way better than a poster Cheesy

Sir Randy, just a suggestion, I think the buyers should get the option of which to get until supplies last. So para rin siyang limited stocks na sign dun during checkout and if wala na may out of stock na sign.

Para alam din nung buyer if he was indeed able to get the freebie. Baka kasi akala mo isa ka sa nauna tapos yun pala wala ka ng naabutan (wag sana...) Grin

What do you guys think?

Again, if you're curious about this set, drop by the Nov Hi-Fi Show, Mandarin Hotel. We're on the 6F, Room 620.  The sample arrived just before closing time but some members were still around so we spent some time examining it.

PinoyDVD has started selling this set.  Ordered mine just now...

Are we (Pinoys) the first to get our hands on this set?  Kailan ba release sa other territories (ie R3 Hongkong, R2 Japan, etc).  We are getting this two weeks ahead of the Americans. Smiley

R2 UK: December 4

R2 Germany: December 15

R4 Australia: December 6

R3 Hong Kong: November 14 (But I'll bet HMV has it already. They often break release dates there, or at least they used to.)

Took some pictures this morning of the set that we were showing off during the Hi-Fi Show event. Like I mentioned in another post, it's pretty impressive.

If you're using a CRT monitor, you may have to adjust contrast and brightness. I edited the files on my laptop so the images are tweaked for LCD displays.
