Hi guys! Both my my notebook and desktop PCs come with Sony Dual-layer DVD-RW drives. My frustration is that I am not able to play any of my original DVDs on them, but only the lousy p*r*t*d ones, for the reason that I would not want to set any region code, since these Sony DVD-RWs only allow me to change their region code settings only up to a maximum of 5 changes.  Huh

Do you guys know of any software that I can use so that my DVD-RW will play any DVD irrespective of its region code.

Many thanks in advance! Grin

You have two options:

1. Look for hacked firmware for the particular drive you to make it region free.
2. Install Slysoft AnyDVD or DVD Region+CSS free software on your computer.

#2 is the easiest option. Just look around  Wink for the software you need.

Easy way:
Download (free) dvdXplayer  It's a region free player for the PC.  However I still prefer PowerDVD due to the better video playback quality.
