Mods please merge this if it's already started by other members.  I just saw this at Glorietta BPI installment madness.  But still have no price tag.  They say that it will be around 40k.  Cool

at that price why not get a ps3. and then wait for dedicated blu-ray players to go down in price and get better?

No standalone BD player can beat the PS3 as a BD player at the moment.  And no amount of firmware update can put them at par with the PS3 because the PS3 hardware is simply head and shoulder above any standalone BD player hardware at the moment.  And for its price, it offers the best price performance value for a BD player.  And you can even play games on the side.  Grin

hello, question on the japan version of ps3, I think this is the cheaper version right, 20 gig?  Last I check its about 28 thousand  with stores in virramall, but all out of stock, also price may be lower now. My question is what is the diff between japan and the us version? Is it just japan version will be able to play japan and US version games. Will it play all blueray discs? Thanks

In Gaming Perspective:

US and Jap Units connect to respective game servers since di pa unified ang Server ng PS3.
The last info i got is mga May pa nila ma-launch ang unified server.

US connects to US Servers; Japan connects to Jap Servers.

So, if you will play a multiplayer game, you may not see a friend online if you have two different regions of PS3.
