Does anyone use Pioneer DVD writers? I read somewhere that they are the best.

Also, has anyone purchased them from www.ebay.ph? One person is selling different models? I hope someone can reply to this thread so that I can decide whether to buy from him because I can't find any local computer stores selling this brand.

Yup, Pioneer drives are very reliable - at least in my experience. I have an A03 and A07XL and both are still in good working condition. My only gripe is that Pioneer stops issuing firmware updates once a model becomes obsolete so 16X DVD-R and DVD+R blanks only burn at 4X max on the AO7XL since the drives don't recognize the discs.

You're referring to the guy who's selling Pioneer DVR-A12XLA? That's a SWEET model and made Editor's Choice over at cdfreaks.com:

Thanks for the help! I'm not sure if I can use the 112 because it's PATA, so I'll order the 111. I think the expensive models can burn DVD-RAM. I don't use that format that much, but I will mention it to a few friends who do.

By the way, the seller has a store at www.aodgm.net and also posts to www.tipidpc.com.
