Has anyone ordered any DVD from Amazon.co.uk?  I ordered a DVD boxed set on April 22, and it said that it was sent through DHL, but the estimated delivery time is June 1.  Does it really take this long, or is June 1 the maximum date?  TIA.

i haven't tried ordering but maybe they are back logged due to the recent closing of airports in Europe, my shipment (not from amazon) is also delayed and are charging more if it needs to be prioritized.

That's what I was also thinking...

I do hope it arrives before the June 1 estimate.  I called up DHL to ask if this really is true, but they do not have any idea.  They said that my package must have been sent through a DHL service called "small packets" which can only be found in Germany, meaning, the type of service is not yet available in the Philippines.  They are not sure if it is air freight or sea freight.  And instead of the usual 10-digit tracking number, I got a 12-digit number.  It is all very confusing.

They gave you a tracking number?  What shipping method did you choose, standard or express?

I chose standard (was surprised that they used DHL) and didn't get a tracking number.

I ordered a DVD from e-bay last week and was shipped from the UK, and I got it this morning.

I think it was the standard option.

I guess it's because the package I ordered was larger.  It's an 18-disc boxed set, and was sent through Deutsche Post DHL.

Got the package from Amazon na.  Stupid Post Office.  When they opened the package, they did not take care, kaya merong cutter mark doon sa box.  Hindi naman masyadong kita sa malayuan, but still.

Binubuksan kasi ng Customs Officer sa Post Office yung mga package, so malamang sya ang may kasalanan.  When did you order it ba?

They open it when it's a big box.  Baka sakaling makahanap ng paraan para makakotong.  Hehehe.

Both dvds and diecast cars... If the amount is less than $50, they shouldn't tax you.  At least, that is what I think.

I just received my order from amazon.uk around July 21. It took 21 days for my order to be delivered to my doorstep. I did not also pay for any customs tax for this.

Note: Standard shipping was used.

From the looks of the box, i guess it went to the post office. There were stamps indicated on the day it arrived in the philippines.

FYI: amount was indicated in the box, but as a disclaimer this is only a single item worth less about P 900 pesos.

Another experience: I also availed the fast/priority shipping (2-4 days shippting) option for amazon.co.uk, this was delivered to my doorstep (UPS) and I did not pay any custom tax for this. Total price for this is about P 4,000.

I've ordered a couple of dvds. It arrived a little more than a month after I ordered it. Magkahiwalay ang shipping, about a week ang difference. Paid P40 for each sa Pasig post office  Smiley

i also have orders from amazon.co.uk and amazon.com. Pag USPS, kukunin ko sa Davao regional Office, custom officer will not open the box. if sent through Royal Air Mail (amazon.uk), mailman will deliver right at my doorstep. Of course i gave them tip kasi most of my orders are shipped through Post Office. i only pay 45pesos for PTCF (big box or small box). Smiley
