The price is a little steep for me.

The DE would be enough for me, I guess!

also on my list of things to buy this july...but sabi nga sana mas mababa ang presyo Grin

The regular 2-disc edition would be good enough for me (for the meantime).

Just got an update from the Warner rep.  300 will be out on July 10 and will be released in three versions.  The said versions are as follows:
1.  2-Disc Widescreen Version w/ "The Art of 300" book = P750.00
2.  2-Disc Widescreen Version in Steel Case w/ "The Art of 300" book = P1250.00
3.  2-Disc Widescreen Version w/ "The Art of 300" book plus a Spartan Helmet mini-replica = P1250.00 (Excluded from pre-booking promo.)

Warner is offering a pre-booking promo from June 22 up to July 8.  Pay a P200 deposit and:
1.  2-Disc Widescreen Version w/ "The Art of 300" book = P750.00 P650.00
2.  2-Disc Widescreen Version in Steel Case w/ "The Art of 300" book = P1250.00 P1050.00

From the looks of things, our steel case release should more or less mirror the Australian release.   Smiley

So the art book will be the same for both? Hmmm...still quite expensive for a steelbook, but i'd still buy it.  Cheesy

Wouldn't it be better if they used Tin iso Steelbook? In that way, they can put more items inside just like what R1 Tin's are doing.  Roll Eyes

I agree: the price of the one in the steel case is kinda high.  However, the Warner rep wasn't sure if it's a steel case or a steelbook that's coming in.  She kept making references to the "Superman Ultimate Collection" tin case and not "The Departed" steelbook.   Smiley

Now this is what I am talking about, if this is the case (hopefully), then I will definitely buy it without thinking. Hah! Especially now that I just bought a 12" Leonidas fig. D@mn! How sweet it is!  Wink

Many thanks for the info Chief!  c",)

Agree that the price is a bit high, especially since this is a Warner release, but I think I'll still be going for the Steel Case. Personally, I'm pleased the bonus material is "The Art of 300" book instead of the comics as I already have the graphic novel. Wondering though if the art book can fit inside the DVD case or will it be separate?

Mukhang separate ang "Art of 300 Book" kasi tingnan nyo sa image ng steel case, malaki yung book e. I don't think it would fit inside the amaray case.

Or baka naman may special packaging din ang regular release para maisama yung book. Cheesy (umasa ba!)

Based on Warner's promo mini-standee, I think the steel case release looks something more like this:

looks like Fitness First could use this as a promo ad Roll Eyes

it seems it'll be steelbook and not tin like that of Superman which means the booklet might be outside the case Huh

Tin case for me na. It's rare that I get the chance to buy tin/steel releases locally so this might encourage the distributors to bring in more. I just wish it's cheaper but oh well..

Must be the comics.  If that's the complete Miller comicbook in glossy color pages, even if scaled down to DVD steelbook size, then 1250 might be ok.

Thanks.

I'll get it no matter wat anyways...hehe  Grin

Steelbook for me. I just hope that the book won't be oversized. Hopefully it will fit the case like corpse bride / batman begins DE.

passed by astro kanina to reserve a copy of the steel case.. sabi ng warner rep dun, kagaya daw siya ng departed.. so i guess it really is a steelbook.. here's the 300 ad by warner.. based on the ad, i don't see the deleted scenes listed.. but all the other R3 releases have it listed so hopefully, meron din tayo.. by the way, the one we're getting seems to be the same as the one listed over at cd-wow..

Can I post a reservation without necessarily having to pick between the steelbook and the DE, and then deciding on release date which one I'm going to buy?

How come mas maaga yung release nito compared to the R1 version? Does it have the same features as the SE R1 release? And why is it getting a special packaging unlike the R1?

Southeast Asian R3 DVDs are more and more frequently released weeks ahead of their R1 counterparts, mainly because of the rampant piracy in our area.

Question ko lang is identical ba features nito to the R1? Coz I've been disappointed kasi the last time I bought the local R3 release for V For Vendetta. It came up one easter egg short. Undecided I'm hoping hindi naman sana ganito for the R3 release of 300 coz I may be getting this one instead of an R1.
