Need advice on what to buy

Hi this is my first post and pardon if there is a similar topic already. I'm going to the US this september, I am really confused on what to buy. I recently purchased a 1080P HDTV and I need a player to realize the potential of my TV. I searched the web and saw that prices of HD DVD retails for for $270 and Sony Blu Ray retails for $450 or better buy a PS3 na lang ba?

X-Box Hdvd add on, Hd dvd player or PS3

-If price is a major concern or you're under a very tight budget then go for HD DVD player 
-If most of your favourite movies are available in HD DVD then go for HD DVD player
-If you also enjoy gaming then you may consider Xbox 360 + Add-on or PS3 
-If gaming isn't a priority then standalone player may be a better option. 
-If you're worrying about which format will eventually win then you should become a Neutral (i.e. buy both HD players).
