Ey guys, I just saw a Toshiba HD-E1 available na locally. Saw it on Robinsons Metro East last weekend. It has a price tag of 39++K.

If you buy an LCD with them, you automatically get a 10k discount on buying the HD DVD.

At last, you can buy it locally with a year warranty but...  Sad There is no free HD DVD unlike in the US but... the salesman told me that he can arrange or request their distributor to provide one, at least. Plus, it comes with free HDMI cable.  Undecided Also, it is DVD coded as region 3, for HD DVD obviously its not and its firmware is already up to date.  Smiley

Seriously thinking of buying one but will probably wait for the next batch to come in. You guys might wanna buy first, then let me know!  Tongue

The Toshiba HD-E1 (European version) is similar to the Toshiba 2nd gen HD-A2. At 39k it's still way over-priced.  Shocked

There's also an extensive discussion on the Tosh HD DVD player: Smiley
