it is great news that Elwood Perez's Silip: Daughter's of Eve, will be released on Nov. 20, 2007 by Mondo Macabro. In 2 disc Limited Edition!!!!!!

With this recent development, i was wondering what other Filipino films have international pressed DVDs. Pls post title with DVD cover art if possible, for reference. Thanks.

Hope this will be followed by Criterion.  Grin

No i haven't seen For Your Height Only, sounds familiar. So that makes two from mondo. Thanks for the info.

I read in INQUIRER sometime ago that Silip is getting an international release, together with another cult fav Celso Ad Castillo's Snake Sisters, i'm not quite sure though.

You read it right riverfan. However, Snake Sisters has been released here in VCD in a very poor quality. We have yet to wait for the international DVD release of Snake Sisters if this will actually materialize.

You may also want to check out KILLING OF SATAN starring Ramon Revilla. According to deweyfinn, the tagalog title may have been KAMPON NI SATANAS. I've posted this info also in FILIPINO FILMS thread before. Here's the link in dvdempire.com. Sadly, no dvd artwork posted.

omigod! is this for real? silip is one of the most memorable "pene" movies of the early 80s.

i still can't forget one harrowing scene where maria sabel lopez, who plays a sexually repressed villager, rubs salt on her private parts. sarsi emanuelle sees her and says, "kahit budburan mo ng asin yan, hindi maalis ang kati nyan" (or something to that effect).

when i met ms. sarsi in person a few years ago, i told her about this and she laughed. ang galing daw ng memory ko.  Grin

Unless I saw a different version, there wasn't any "pene" in this film. A lot of full frontal nudity, yes, but no actual genital penetration.  Huh

I think the "pene" classics are those that starred Joy Sumilang, Amanda Amores and the like. "Sabik... Kasalanan Ba" and "Hindi Mapigil Ang Init" come to mind. Plus I think George Estregan was in each and every one of them.  Grin

George Estregan pretty much covered all areas of acting. That (pene) and the one that etched in my memory is his role in SA INIT NG APOY. No bold movie despite the title but a horror-drama.

I finally got my complimentary copy of the dvd and the transfer is glorious, its almost sinful to watch. They also sent me a partial restoration of Snake Sisters (parts of it are still unrestored) but if things go well, it's simply going to be beautiful.

Lucky you...I'm planning to import it when it's finally released.  It's still on pre-order.   Grin

Glorious mint transfer, kudos to Mondo Video. My video copy can be put in the trash as far as gratuitous sex scenes, quality are concerned as compared to the dvd release. Its like you've gone to the ghostly Manila Film Center watching this film again!

Perfect gift to your granny this coming holidays. LOL!  Grin

Amazing anamorphic widescreen transfer! After seeing recent Viva/Regal DVD releases of Tagalog films from the 1980s, I had no idea our films from that era could look this great on DVD.

What a disturbing, bizarre movie. I had forgotten just how wild it was.

If you have never seen this, do so. I guarantee it's unlike anything you've ever seen before.  Grin

I think the original title of THE KILLING OF SATAN is LUMABAN KA, SATANAS (1983).

This is the first time I've seen this film and yeah, truly disturbing!  It reminds of Himala (and this is the erotica version) upon knowing that Ricky Lee wrote the story.  I found some lines so bad and yet so funny!  During the last few minutes of the film, naging seryoso na siya.  Natuwa naman ako!  Hehehe.  Nice film!

Im not so sure but back in VHS days, I saw a compilation of Pene scenes and one of it features the Myra Manibog and Mark Joseph sex scene. It seems that Mondo Macabro tamed their SILIP release removing the actual "Pene" and Genitalia parts on this scene

Yet, this is one LIMITED EDITION to OWN!

No, I personally think xage is mistaken. I saw this film on the big screen when it was first released, and think I would've remembered "pene" in the movie if it existed. And to edit a "pene" scene from a movie where the lead actor is seen holding his own bloody erection, not to mention a scene where an underaged little girl is almost touching that man's penis would seem a bit... weird. I also think it's unlikely Elwood Perez would have actually filmed a "pene" sequence for one of his movies. It was often a practice in the 80s to add "pene" sequences from other films into movies that had no actual "pene" - perhaps that's what happened in the VHS tape xage saw?

But as xage said, I'm actually not 100% sure. It was too long ago!  Grin
