Alvin and the Chipmunks R3 - With Free Items!

Alvin and the Chipmunks was released on R3 today. It has a promo with it, which allows you to pick a Chipmunks-related promo item for free when you purchase the disc at full price (Php 550).

The promo items are:

1. Refrigerator magnet picture frame

2. Digital watch

3. Micro voice changer (mini bullhorn that converts your voice into a chipmunk voice)

The promo is good while supplies last. Please note that item number 3 is in very limited quantities.

Mr.Hankey, when you said pick, does this mean we can choose or a raffle of some sort? I will only buy this for the voice changer for my kid, but if it is raffle, then you are one lucky guy!

You get to choose. They might try to give you another item and let you sign something, but if you read the form before you sign it, you'll see that it's supposed to be a CHOICE. That's why I got the voice changer instead of the magnet they were trying to gyp me with.

Seconds after your reply,  I immediately called one of my suki store, the VIVA rep is firm that it is only for raffle or a draw. 

Anyway, I will get that by all means.

I wouldn't bought this movie even at bargain price.  I would get it for that bullhorn toy but my local Astro branch doesn't have that promo, so I am not sure I could bargain with other branches (where I am not suki) to guarantee that item...  Maybe i'll pass...

Viva should have bundled that bullhorn and sell it at say 650 or 750 like 101 Dalmatian and Enchanted.  The other two items are not really that attractive, I could get a similar watch for under a 100 at tiangges...  Sure it's not Alvin but who cares about Alvin anyway...

I just realized that the cover art of this was printed locally because of the MTRCB logo.

There are also some inconsistencies with the indicated special features. I couldn't find the Horton Hears A Who sneak preview feature supposedly included in the disc. However, in place of that, there's a featurette not indicated on the features list that is actually on the disc.

Just bought one last Saturday from Astro Megamall. Got the voice changer for free. My daughter loved it though your voice wouldn't really match that of a chipmunk. Among the three voice options, I would say that the "Kid" setting is the one that closely resembles that cute chipmunk voice. The other two options - the "Robot", and the "Boy" are a bonus.

With regard to the DVD, I would say that I kinda felt that there was something missing. I couldn't find in the bonus features any clip which shows who the voices behind the chipmunks were. For P550.00 medyo ok na din.
