Oh don't give up that fast ! Just try to be careful what you watch/rent next time. Not all are that bad .. and certainly, there are still people out there, like the Brash Young Cinema (tama ba joeypogi?),  trying to make better movies for folks with better taste in movies like you. Like what Rico J. Puno once said ... may bukas pa !

Hope they just stop making ST movies (w/c I doubt coz this genre is the one making money for our local industry) and center more on drama which was really selling before.

Well, I remembered watching this movie before which they usually show at 3pm yung Plasticman.  I dunno who starred in this movie pero bumenta sa akin.  And don't forget Tony Falcon--->Agent X44! Grin

I don't mind them doing ST movies as long as they are done tastefully, with actors who CAN really act,  the ST scenes needed in the story and the story is really good. Somewhere in the line of Private Show and Takaw Tukso .. or Unfaithful Wife. Heck, even Lino Brocka jumped into the bandwagon (although di pa ST tawag noon) with Hot Property introducing the voluptous Carmi Martin(where is she now?) and then basketball player Dennis Roldan(sexually appealing).

As for Agent X44, I really don't like Pinoys doing imitations of Hollywood .. in this case, James Bond. Like I said before, if they are going to imitate, at least improve on the material. If they can't, they are just subjecting themselves to humiliation .. or ridicule.

I like Palos better.

"Alupihang Dagat".This one's an FPJ movie with Elizabeth Oropesa noong uso pa ang wet white t-shirts scenes sa movies which by the way pinauso ni Gloria Diaz sa "Ang Pinakamagandang Hayop sa Balat ng Lupa".

Here's a good idea for a box set. Launching movies of the 7 bold stars na pinasikat ni Jesse Ejercito of Seven Stars Productions. It started with Elizabeth Oropesa sa Mister Mo, Lover Boy Ko, Chanda Romero, Daria Ramirez, Alma Moreno sa Ligaw na Bulaklak, Beth Bautista, at Lorna Tolentino sa Dulce Amor, Ina. I can't remember the seventh star. Was it Rio Locsin in Menor de Edad? Would someone help me complete this list?

Another box set I want to see is Maryo de los Reyes fun movies like "High School Circa '65", "Apat na Maria", and maybe "Gabun" with Michael Sandico and Lloyd Samartino.

Oops! I think I just miss my younger days in the Philippines that's why I'm kind of reminiscing about the old movies. Seriously, these are good movies that's why somehow it stays in your memories. Even the bold movies, some are directed by Ishmael Bernal. Check it out if you can find it.

The seventh star is Amy Austria. Rio Locsin was launched by Regal Films in "Disgrasyada". Although I like her better in Menor de Edad by Ishmael Bernal.

Launching movies for the Regal Babies would be another good idea for a box set of DVDs:
Rio Locsin in Disgrasyada
Cherie Gil in Problem Child
Dina Bonnevie in Katorse
Maricel Soriano, Snooky and Dina B. in Underage

"baka masibak ako eh"

You bet your pwet.  Buti na lang I read your entire post.

Ang pinakamasakit sa "Masakit, Mahirap, Mahapdi" is actually watching the film.

That said, I prefer it over Jose Rizal.

I want a Bagets Boxed Set complete with cast interviews, deleted scenes, behind the scenes featurette, theatrical trailer and pictures! It also wouldn't hurt to throw in Ninja Kids as a bonus!

A Tanging Yaman DVD would be nice too.

Hey, I'd want that Bagets Box Set too if they ever make one.  I think the filmmakers weren't really intending on making a classic, but perhaps unintentionally, they did!

I really hope the local studios here see DVDs as a way to preserve some of their best movies. Sayang, kasi I'm pretty sure that a lot of our old classics have deteriorated beyond repair.

Every single Mike De Leon movie, baby. Oh yeah. Though it might not make much difference if the original film prints are crap. This country really needs to get a restoration project in gear.

I think Agila starring FPJ, Christopher De Leon would by an excellent film to be released on DVD complete with different audio channels for the major dialects and English. This movie is one of the few that was shown commercially and was able to tackle sensitive issues during the Marcos years. (Sakada I think was banned or its commercial run was cut short?). The most memorable line for from that movie was: "Ano ang ipakakain sa atin ng Amerikano, hotdog?" as spoken by the macho Hukbalahap leader portrayed by Behn Cervantes.

On the lighter side, a Boxed set of Tony Falcon agent X44 movies in TCM-color.

There is a certain Pinoy film that I would personally like to be immortalized in DVD. I can't remember the title so I'm hoping someone might be able to help me with this one. It's a pretty old movie, and it has a superhero in it. Hindi ko tanda kung si Darna or Supergirl.  The one scene that I can't forget is this town being terrorized by a gigantic frog. One of the terrified citizens fleeing the monster is a very young (but already fat) Ike Lozada. He's barefoot, holding his slippers in his hands because he doesn't want to ruin them because they're new. He gets stepped on by the frog.

Anyone remember this film?

I have been looking for classic films back in the 70s/80s ..

Tinimbang Ka Ngunit Kulang
Banawe
Insiang
Maynila Sa Kuko Ng Liwanag
Pagputi Ng Uwag, Pag-itim Ng Tagak
PX
Jaguar
Bona
Himala
City After Dark
Kisapmata
Soltero
Tatlong Taon Walang Diyos
Atsay
Gabun
Ina Ka Ng Anak Mo
Himala
Relasyon
Nunal Sa Tubig
Moral
Kakabakabaka
Miguelito
Kapit Sa Patalim
Salome
Oro Plata Mata
Saan Darating Ang Umaga

and many more that are really classic and of good quality unlike movies that were made from the 90s that are horribly written, badly directed and unforgettably acted on by ham thespians.

Viper, Agila is a good choice !!! I think that's the best FPJ movie ... and I would love to see his movie as a boxer, sort of Rocky Balboa, with Charo Santos and the very young Julie Vega.. I forgot the title of that movie.
