problem lang profile 1.0 pa rin ito. me nagtry na bang magupdate to profile 2.0?
From the Samsung website... can I upgrade my Profile 1.0 or 1.1 player to Profile 2.0?
While a few Profile 1.1 players—Samsung’s BD-P1500, for example—can be upgraded to Profile 2.0 via firmware. Profile 1.0 players unfortunately cannot be upgraded past Profile 1.0, though, with but a few very rare exceptions. But don’t blame the firmware; the reasons for this are almost entirely hardware-related.
When the first Blu-ray players were manufactured, the final specifications for all of the spiffy interactive extra features that would follow hadn’t been set in stone. Things like secondary audio and video tuners, as well as permanent data storage and internet connectivity, were entirely optional.
With the advent of Profile 1.1 (also known as the Final Standard, ironically enough), 256 megabytes of storage, secondary tuners, and a virtual file system (the particulars of which we don’t need to get into here) became mandatory. Internet connections were still optional, but some manufacturers had already begun included them for firmware updates and other purposes, anyway, even during the days of Profile 1.0.
So the differences in hardware between Profile 1.0 and 1.1 were quite large. Surprisingly, though, the leap from 1.1 to 2.0 wasn’t quite so significant in terms of nuts and bolts. A ‘net connection became mandatory, but again, most Profile 1.1 players were already so equipped. The local storage requirement also rose from 256 megabytes to one gigabyte, which is why you’ll need to plug a flash drive of sufficient size into the back of a BD-P1500 to bring it up to full Profile 2.0 spec when its firmware is upgraded this fall.
And don’t worry: for now, no other Profile upgrades are in the cards for video. The oft-whispered-about Blu-ray Profile 3.0 is an audio-only specification in the vein of DVD-Audio and SACD—a topic for another day.

MY TWO CENTS - 10/14/08 - by Digital Bits editor Bill Hunt Now then... we've been hearing reports for months now, from folks connected to various Blu-ray associated companies, that you'll probably be seeing some pretty great deals on Blu-ray Disc hardware in time for the holidays - especially on Black Friday, the infamous day after Thanksgiving Day shopping fest. Now come the first early reports of just what one of those deals might look like: Gizmodo is reporting that Samsung and retailer Ultimate Electronics will be offering the BD-P1500 for just $149 on Black Friday - some $350 off its regular retail price. The deal has yet to be official confirmed, but we bet it's right on, and that you'll be seeing a number of other such manufacturer/retailer offerings that day as well.

Speaking of Wal-Mart, Video Business is reporting that the retailer will begin selling the Magnavox NB500MG9 profile 1.1 (Bonus View) Blu-ray player for just $298 on Memorial Day weekend. The player is manufactured by Funai of Japan.

Anybody knows if the US version is autovolt or just 110v? Thanks. I prefer 110v , Even if its autovolt, I plug it on 110v, thru regulator and bada line conditioner. An electrician told me if its autovolt, plug to 110 pa rin bec of protection when there is a surge. There is still a buffer. If you plug it to 220v and there is a surge, it can go up 300 to 400v. I don't know if this is true hehe. I just plug sa 110v
