second po Almost 10 years na kasi kaming skycable.plus naka sky broadband pa. ngayong gusto namin mag i vail yung HD. magkano yung initial payment? Succeeding payments (monthly); How many channels are HD?

5000 ang one time charge for the HD digibox, plus yung installation ng outlet (kung wala pang existing). 6 HD channels for 799 per month (or 3 HD channels for 499 per month) on top of your SD subscription.

Yung channels 2, 5 and 7 do seem to look less compressed compared to other SD channels. However, mukhang ganun din naman ang result sa SD digibox namin.

Most likely meron na kayong HD service. (buti pa kayo  ) if you have Skycable and skybroadband na. It means upgraded na mga lines sa inyo.

5k is only for the HD box, hiwalay po ang installation charge.

Yes, monthly ng Sky (let's say 1000 pesos for sky gold), tapos 799 pesos. This is for a single TV po. Additional TVs will have additional outlet charges (and additional upfront installation costs and box costs).

The initial cash out for SkyCable's HD installation can set you back but its already cheaper compared to Cignal's HD-Only Inital cash out which costs P 9490. You can have it for least but it's kinda confusing and complicated, well, based on their website.

Ipon muna kung mabigat sa bulsa, sayang ang HDTV if you don't have HD channels.

Totoo bang may local HD show na daw on SKY HD?  I heard that the new Sarah Gernimos show called "Idol" which was shot in HD was shown or is being shown on SKY HD daw?

Anyone can confirm this?  Just curious on how local HD content will look like on HD regardless of the quality of the story of the show itself.

I have not come across this (if this was true), but UAAP and NCAA were in HD via Sky. We also caught Net25's test HD broadcasts in the past, and they were also good.

I believe this is a true, I know someone who works for SkyCable posted on another forum saying they were able to watch "1dol" on SkyCable HD Channel 168. Last minute inannouce and I think it's only for internal viewing.

Finally got my SkyCable HD. Yung HBO HD at FoxCrime HD pala ay HD versions ng SD channels. The rest ay iba ang content. Sana may madagdag pa na channels. Nakakabitin yung 6 HD channels lang.

I'm not sure if you get the same issue that I do. SD channels look better via Y/Pr/Pb in my system, versus HDMI. I get mosquito noise on SD channels via HDMI (HD channels look a bit cleaner via HDMI though).

sorry pero i can't test the component connection .. gamit ko na kasi sa dvd player .. okay naman sa akin ang sd channels .. kaso ayaw ko ng naka-stretch sila kaya inadjust ko sa settings na malagyan sila ng black bars sa sides .. para maretain yung 4:3 aspect ... pag sa hd channels automatic na mawawala na yung black bars ... ganyan din kase ang ginawa ko dati nung digibox pa lang kami ...

In my case kasi softer yung picture nung Y/Pr/Pb connection sa HD box (same settings sa TV), versus HDMI. Pero aside from being softer, parang mas malinis yung picture (less visible ang compression artifacts) with SD channels. Wala din yung mosquito noise around sharp edges like sa channel logo.

This is why I use both HDMI and analogue component connections. Pag SD channels, I select the analogue input.

Edit: nabawasan yung stuttering nung binalik ko sa default resolution na 1080i. Nilagay ko kasi sa 720p. May nabasa kasi ako na mas maganda daw ang progressive kesa interlaced.

SkyCable distributes the HD feed in 1080/60i, afaik. In my experience, it's best to select 1080i and NTSC (makes it output in 60Hz). This reduces visible judder and other anomalies.

If you're sensitive to flicker and are using a Plasma screen, setting it to PAL (sets the output to 1080/50i) sometimes helps (if your TV frame-doubles this to 100Hz). This reduces flicker, in the expense of smooth motion.

If the existing cable ang gagamitin for HD cable, it's not HD. Analog cable p rin kc ung gamit its only 75 ohms,just convert the analog signal. Unlike s Singapore ung set-top-box n ibinibigay s subscriber, nk connect s internet. I think that is really an HD.just me

SkyCable might have NBA Premium as well, the one that Cignal will have, but it will be available on both SD and HD for Sky.
I am still waiting for the official announcement but reports on twitter says that NBA Premium will offer more games, over 400 games unique aside from the games on SOLARtv and BTV, with no local ads and will have clear, crisp signal quality.

Just spoke to someone from Sky's Tech support about it. He said they will give the nba premium for free if you avail of the pacquiao v. Margarito fight! He said "it's 100% confirmed!"

I'm not sure if its the League Pass that they are offering but I'm thinking it's NBA TV. I guess, one way to be sure about it is to subscribe to the channel.
