A member of PinoyXbox based in Shanghai reported buying p*r*t*d BR stored in BD-R in Shanghai for approximately 240 pesos.

Good or bad?

I appreciate how easy it is (but time consuming) to extract the entire content of an original HD disk using AnyDVD HD but as far as Tokyo is concerned, the price of a piece of recordable single-layer BD is too prohibitive still..almost $10 a piece...almost twice as prohibitive for dual layer type  So where the bloody hell are these Jack Sparrows getting their super cheap blank BD-R, so fast?Huh

I dont think so.  Apparently, the guy in Shanghai tried PS3 playback and the media was recognized as 1080p.

Imagine the bazzillions who purchased the PS3 having the option to purchase  "equivalent" BD for 250-400 pesos each only - at this early stage of HD adoption.   What's the adoption rate of BD at the moment?  10%-20%.  This is like choking a toddler.   The DVD at least had the chance to reach early puberty before it was raped.

Normal na yan sa HD movie releases Leomar.  3-4 weeks before the official HD-DVD, BD release, available na sa torrents in 720p or 1080 mkv. Mas matindi/prolifc ang Scandinavians kesa Chinese in my opinion and mas efficient sila sa compression.    Grin Grin Grin

Ang di ko nalang nakikita sa torrent sites ay NBA Finals 2008 BEFORE the games are actually played.   Grin Grin Grin

This might actually push me to adopt BD earlier than planned.   Grin

this is 100% true. there are fake BDs now in china as there are BD burners and blank discs.

question is, will the quality of these discs f*ck up your precious PS3? Huh
