Sony's BDP-S300 1080p Blu-ray player sinks below $200

Sony's BDP-S300 has seemingly always been at the forefront of Blu-ray price drops, and while we were pretty stoked to see it hit $299 last December, the very solid 1080p player has now reached an unquestionably delectable $199.98. On sale at Amazon "while supplies last," the deck combines a name you've heard of with a price point you can probably stomach, and moreover, we're hoping this is just the beginning of an industry-wide effort to lower the barrier to entry for BD. Scoop it on up if this is the moment you've been waiting (and waiting) for.

Agree with Moks007 but for those with tight budget then this is certainly a good option if the "negatives" can be overlooked.

I have this unit. Ok lang.  sad to hear lang that it does not support True HD.  Although its quite positive on my side coz my Yamaha 6.1 receiver is still the old one.  No True HD.

Try the magnovox blu-ray for $128! > http://www.geek.com/articles/gadgets/on-black-friday-wal-mart-to-sell-blu-ray-player-for-128-20081119/

Or you may try the Best Buy "Insignia" brand for around $170.

There are plenty of brands already in the US that are below $200,

http://www.amazon.com/s/qid=1249353208/ref=sr_nr_p_36_3?ie=UTF8&rs=352697011&bbn=352697011&rnid=386442011&rh=n%3A172282%2Cn%3A!493964%2Cn%3A1266092011%2Cn%3A172514%2Cn%3A352697011%2Cp_36%3A10000-20000

Though, I am still waiting and hoping that the BD titles would somehow go down a bit...
