Just got a text that there will be significant price-offs this weekend. Warner confirmed that the 2-disc version of I Am Legend will be available for Php350.

Lots of titles similar to the warehouse sale(s) before. Php150/Php175 titles for Warner, Php275 for their older 2-discs like The Departed, the Kubrick remasters, Php350 for newer 2-discs like Beowulf and I Am Legend.
Magna had a 2 for Php399 thing going with most of the newer releases at Php299. BSG Season 3 was at Php500.
Viva had their usual Php199 titles. I picked up Enchanted. The rest were at Php299 including the 2-disc versions of National Treasure and FF Rise of the Silver Surfer.

Didn't see any Transformers 2-disc but could've been a stocking thing. They were still setting up when I got there.
Most of the Disney titles were at Php199.

reposting what i just posted in one of the other sale thread...  was there as soon as astro opened yesterday with the wife, when we got there, they were just setting up and pricing the dvds. the sale was not as good as some previous sales at astro festival and astro sm makati but there were still some good DVD and even CD buys. why did i say that? there were some titles that were priced P125 at festival and sm makati but were P175 at the podium sale. but thats just me... only got myself, i am legend 2 disc SE (P350) and led zepellin the song remains the same 2 disc SE DTS (199) and some audio CDs as well (ranging from P50-150)... i hope i can still go back, there were still a lot of titles that i wanted top buy... but im still happy.... |

by the way, some noteable titles i saw were:
- hellboy animated with comic book P299
- national treasure 2 LE P299
- ocean's boxset (11, 12 and 13) P350 ( i just cant remember if this is correct... )
- sweeney todd 2 disc with comic book P399
- xmen boxset P450
- fantastic four boxset P450
- marvel heroes boxset P450
there were also a lot that were priced the same as previous sales like...
- shawshank redemption 2 disc P199
- i am legend 2 disc SE
- etc...
most of the viva titles were at P199-P299, while audio CDs range from P50-P300 (SACD)...

just came from the astro podium sale.. i planned to buy the fantastic 4 box set but too bad it is not on sale... still for 999... just bought the 2-disc ff:rotss for 299, 2-disc constantine for 175, 2-disc polar express for 199, 2-disc 300 for 275 and daredevil director's cut for 199.

hmm, I think, a factor for it is yung sunod sunod na sale na nangyari the past weeks or months from different sites. Bali, almost all Identical ata ang mga titles na for sale.
Or maybe, people, tend to pass on the sale to avoid expensive buying.

I noticed that too. I was there on the 1st and last day. I was surprised that there weren't that much people around. Probably na exhaust na sa mga naunang sale. Moreover, Some of the prices weren't as affordable as some sales. Example of w/c I got ACROSS THE UNIVRESE for 275 at TRINOMA sale and it was 375  at the podium. Some warner titles were back to either 250 or 199  from a previous of 125. Marketing strategy in the works? Its a pity since I have always regarded PODIUM SALE as THE MUST VISIT DVD sale of all other sales. I ended getting 1 DVD (101 dalmatians) and 4 audio cds. IMHO, the audio sales were better! Pahabol, customer service was excellent though due to this. Kudos to SOL of GALAXY and SARAH of UNIVERSAL. |

Almost the same titles are included in the different sale caravans but the prices seem to be getting higher than before, so better to wait for the sale prices to drop again before buying. |

i went there last friday but didnt get any. i was expecting that steelbook dvds will be on sale too. a rep from magna mentioned they will never put those steelbooks (indiana jones, cloverfield and american gangster) on sale. since these are collectible copies. nagtaka lang ako...bakit disposable ba yung hindi steelbooks... patience is a virtue. |

I already have most of the DVDs I want that are on sale right now which is the reason I haven't been buying much these past couple of months. Was supposed to go to the podium yesterday but thought better of it. Just looking forward to the future new releases this holiday season.

This was mispriced lang daw. So i guess i was one of the lucky ones to get it at P300 (part of Buy 2 for P600). They should take their cue from Warner who put their steelbooks on sale at Astro Glorietta recently. |
