James Bond Ultimate Edition: (Pierce Brosnan set only partly UE)

Viva has released the Ultimate Edition (2-discs) of many James Bond films.  What's odd is the pricing....  As Allanmandy has pointed out it's 450 buy-one-take-one during the MOA halloween sale.  But I'd seen it for 350 each, non-sale price.  But what's odd is that they also package them into Sean Connery box-set and Pierce Brosnan boxset with the six-film Sean Connery version going for 3,000 and the 4-film Pierce Brosnan one for 1,500.  At 350 apiece, six films is only 2,100, so you are paying 900 for a cardboard box that's not even limited edition!

Viva is known for jacking up the prices for their box sets. But yeah, the quality of those cardboard boxes leaves a lot to be desired and is definitely not worth the hundreds they charge more.

So far the titles I'd seen are the following:

Sean Connery:  Available singly at Php350@ or all-six in a boxset for Php 3,000 (do the math!)

Roger Moore:  Php350 each, wala pa boxset
08    Live and Let Die
09    The Man with the Golden Gun
11    Moonraker
12    For Your Eyes Only

Pierce Brosnan:  all-four boxset at Php 1,500 (Astro) or 1,200 (Odyssey).  Didn't see individual releases. update: Now I know why...read next post...

18    Tomorrow Never Dies
19    The World Is Not Enough
20    Die Another Day

Also old single disc releases for some other Bond films like A View To a Kill restocked for 299@

21 Casino Royale (Available from Magnavision, previous release)

**The number denotes the chronological order of Bond films as released on the big screen.

The UE's are housed in standard Amaray (clone) with one disc to each side.  The standard issue from Viva and Magnavision.  Black instead of clear but without the bubble wrap insert.  So beware of loose discs!

Update!  Just opened my Pierce Brosnan boxset and it's labelled Ultimate Edition on the box but inside only Tomorrow Never Dies is UE, the other three are Special Edition (old release) with Die Another Day being 2-discs and the others being one-disc! 

False labelling!  Looks like I will have to return this one.

sama naman nun.. parang nang iisa sila kung ganun... tama yan ibalik mo dun and tell them na mali ang ginagawa nila. make sure na u have the receipt with you rin.

Only the Pierce Brosnan UE boxset is mislabeled.  Since it's sealed, I didn't know the other three are old edition (in old packaging).  So the 'Many Fake -Old Edition with new cover art!' title of this thread is itself deceptive and corrected.    While I didn't buy the Sean Connery boxset, my guess is that it will contain the Ultimate Edition of the six films since they are all available for individual purchase.

As stated the single releases of all Ultimate Edition should be fine.

Until someone actually buys a set and can confirm otherwise, I'll stick with the "Possibly Fake: Purchase at your own risk" assessment.

Naglabas na ng mga Ultimate Edition na separates....yun nga lang...unlike sa R1......WALANG DTS sa R3.

Problem lang hindi kumpleto if you want to have all 21 bond films on DVD. Twelve (including Casino Royale) lang available...

Recently bit by the DVD bug and bought a couple of the titles I like...problem is, I'm missing "From Russia with Love." Anybody seen this around? Heads up naman jan...

These are relatively good purchases since they've opened up a liking to Bond films...which I have been a fan of since I started collecting DVDs but have waited for new releases to come out. And I must say that these UEs have made great improvements on PQ & AQ...too bad they couldn't improve the Roger Moore Bond movies... only bought "The Spy Who Loved Me", "For Your Eyes Only" & "Octopussy."

Hope Viva also releases the Brosnan ones in UE fashion...3 lang naman kulang nila.

All of the first 20 films of the franchise were released in UE version...Unfortunately, "A View to a Kill" and "Die Another Day" haven't been released locally yet.

I hope a Viva rep is reading this thread. Is there a possibility that the 2 remaining titles that aren't released in Ultimate Edition yet be released locally? If so, I wonder when? I've started collecting & watching the Bond UEs and I hope to get these 2 rin. Calling Viva again. TIA.
