Batpod + steelbook edition SOLB na!

Same combination for me.  Though I can only imagine how much the steelbook will cost if it is indeed true that the "regular" 2disc edition is priced at 895.   Shocked

Gone are the days of 550 for a 2disc ed. dvd.  With the rise in popularity of blu, one would expect a drop in dvd pricing, but it seems that the opposite is happening.

Haven't picked up a regular priced dvd since early this year.  If not for the Batpod, I would probably buy the regular edition after 6 months or more when it hits the 299 mark.  Hopefully its not as "limited" as the Da Vinci Code, where after a year or two, the cyptex is still seen on the shelves of dvd stores.

ganito lang yan. your enthusiasms & excitements are the real reason for them jacking up their prices  Grin alam nyo naman nagbabasa sila dito di ba?

express dissatisfaction na lang hehehehe baka bumaba. supply & demand? ito sagot  Grin

What's irritating is that when THEY sense a surge of interest here in PinoyDVD over a particular title, THEY respond immediately by charging us big bucks. But when we complain about defective discs and erroneous artworks, it's like suddenly they don't know how to read.

yup. batpod's the same reason i'm willing to shell out that much cash now rather than wait for the inevitable price drop.

good thing they decided to release a batpod packaging for the R3 DVD. I almost ordered the 2 Disc with Digital copy coz i though the pod only came with BD  Tongue

After seeing the hi-res pic of the batpod I'm suddenly apprehensive. The whole thing looks to be made of low grade molded plastic instead of a die cast metal material Sad Even if it is plastic, I sure hope it's the high quality kind.

Here's hoping that I'm wrong Undecided

The Warner rep I talked to said that it's made of metal. Though they weren't shown the actual figure yet, as Warner doesn't seem to have any at this moment.

if the Batpod would be metal, purchasing this with the steep price tag, would somehow soften the blow. But I still think that Warner overpriced this...if it turns out the Batpod isn't metal, I'd reconsider getting the GS.

I'd just go for the BD GS at least that has the IMAX features.

Oh definitely Warner is overpricing this.  The 3 times I went to Astro, the price kept on increasing.  From 2,500 to 2,700 to 2,750!  Even the Batmask went from 1,450 to 1,500 to 1,575.....  Roll Eyes Shocked

The DVD also has the IMAX screens. But on a separate feature.

Yeah...could've been great if integrated on the Sd release though...would've made the pricing justifiable plus a die-cast Batpod...

Hope Warner doesn't drop the ball on this...c'mon Warner, make us happy this Xmas!!! Wink

Bumaba na ang gas ah..... Lips sealed

Isn't it that price in Asia should be cheaper than the U.S.? I got my Optimus and Bumblebee mask form Walmart for only $12 = P600 only. Given that those masks/toys are all made in China.

As far as sharing the correct information goes, I may have some fault in this. I remember seeing the Warner memo about 2 or 3 days before the Nov. 15th start of reservations and it clearly said P2,750 for the Batpod edition.

In my excitement I just posted it to be around P2,500 (and also to be on the safe side) since everything just became a blur to me at that point  Cheesy

Then, when I went to Astro on the morning of the 15th, I read the same memo again and it was indeed at P2,750. One of the members confirmed it some posts back and I concurred with them. So there. It was never at the P2,500 price point. Just a bit of miscommunication  Grin Grin Grin Same goes for the mask edition. Sorry!

For the DVD edition let's all hope there's a seamless integration option to switch to fullscreen once those IMAX scenes come up!

I just reserved a "BatPod" edition in Asto Trinoma. The lady told me that the reservation does not guarantee a unit because all branches still do not have allocations from their distributor. They will advise me daw kung pasok ako sa 400 + limited units that are going to be released nationwide. Kung hindi ako aabot, i guess i'll have to wait for the Batpod Bluray Edition  Smiley

Any idea on what's the most expensive LE or gifset ever released locally?  I can't seem to remember any higher than P2,750

Sorry I didn't made myself clear. Single titled LE or Giftset. From my recollection,  it's 2,500ph (i.e. 300, IJ IV).

Anyone have an idea if this R3 release will also get a bonus digital copy? Like the 2-disc Hancock release?

I ask because the R1 release has a bonus digital copy that contains seamless integration of the IMAX scenes (unlike the regular DVD feature that maintains its aspect ratio throughout).

Warner? Anyone?

^ It's a .wmv or any media file that is included with your DVD or BD purchase that can be transferred to a PC -- but ideally, to a portable media device like the iPod or PSP.

Some examples of DVDs that contain a digital copy of the film is Terminator 2: Judgment Day Extreme Edition (R1), Live Free or Die Hard (R1), Hancock (R1 & R3), The Dark Knight (R1), etc.

Time to replace my reservation to just the ordinary 2-disc edition. Should there be a steelcase, iyon na lang. Parang di rin maganda iyong Batmask.
