What Bluray Player do you own?

Sony BDP S1000ES urgraded version of the S550.

First I no longer have any BD media disc (will rent using the BluPass somtime), but I can still review this player right?


Anyway, here's my very mini review:

Using my Pana 42X30 Plasma, connected to non-HDMI Marants receiver, I am very satisfied with the video and audio quality of this player, it played my Media files and DVDs and upscaled in very good picture quality. Initially, it is slow in loading* . Easy to use, set-up and navigate the menu and interface. Network capabilities (DLNA & HomeNetwork) and Youtube are working as expected. It can play from my Android Device, and directly from my PC.

Pros:
- VERY good picture quality
- very smooth 24frames playback (WOW)
- Read all my MKV files regardless of resolution and bit rates
- Read HD MP4 files with AAC audio  
- Read NTFS HD
- Home Networking worked as expected
- Unit does not heat that much even after long playback time
- Build in picture controls and noise reduction

Cons
- Initially slow in loading, but once completely powered on, second disc loading or reading a file from USB was a breeze.
- HDMI Link was a pain, when I play a MP3 files/disc so I can view the files, TV and BD will  power on, but when I turned off the TV, the BD player will turn off too. My other HDMI Players (Samsung and Extreme), can use either of the remote (player or TV) to navigate the contents; if I turn off the TV, only the TV will turn off. Workaround is I have disable the Vierra Link, to prevent one RC to control both HDMI connedted devices.
- Can't read 3GP and FLV
- very basic and cheap looking remote control.
- queuing (ffw/frw) is not that good compared with other players that I have
- No component video out (if that matters)
- No Optical out (only Coaxial Out)

any reviews about this BD player??? maliban sa locked po sya? ano pa po yung pros and cons nya?
I was thinking about getting one when I bought my Samsung D550 last month... pero nag dalawang isip po ako since di naman ganun ka immediate yung need... kailangan ko lang po talaga ng stand alone BD player... which can accommodate all my needs (bluray, mkvs, etc...)

kung meron pa po kayo suggestion maliban dito sa player na ito... it would be helpful... budget ko sana is 7k-8k lang... btw... am currently using my brother's PS3 to play Blurays... hehehe...

I just bought my first BD Player and its Samsung BD D5100. Apparently it's Region 3-locked for DVD, can't play my R1 DVDs, ouch! Search the net and as of today, there is no way to have this unlocked.

di ko kasi ginagamit yang BD player ko na yan e
nilagay ko ulit sa box
kasi may ps3 ako tapos may MEasy X6 ako tapos ung samsung 40d550 nagplay ng .m2s and mkvs

mga dvd ko sa LG HTIB ko pniplay e
benta ko nalang kaya hehehe
nagrent din ako sa bluepass ng xmen bd di ko pa napapanood hahaha tamad mode ampf

wala naman saka isang beses ko pa lang sya nagamit with XMen borrowed bd from bluepass
gamit ko is samsung 40d550
nagtest din ako ng MKV file ok naman ... nilagay ko kasi sa box baka maalikabukan lang ayaw ipabenta ni misis e...

My only player is the Memorex MVBD2520. The Ps3 I had was in Davao. OK na din sa akin na di region free ang DVD at talagang bonus yung BD na region free talaga at 2.9k. Sana lang tumagal.

PS3 and Pioneer Elite BDP-23FD. I use the PS3 more as it plays Netflix. PlayOn and PS3 media server works great on it as well for streaming.

sa tingin niyo sir D5100 ang libre nun?wala kasing sinabi saken ung agent kung ano ung libre, ang sinabi lang niya sa mismong samsung daw ako tatawag para ma-claim ko yung free ko.
