Ya I agree that this is a very good price. Hopfully all the bd software will follow suit. 800 to 1000 pesos blu is not bad na. Also SELECTION!!

Guys, I need your inputs on this. I'm planning to buy a BD player within the weeks time. What would you recommend, PS3 Slim or the LG BD370? Is the PQ same on both? What about SQ does it have a difference? YOur inputs would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know about PQ but one major consideration is that the PS3 slim 120gb is about twice the price of the LG BD370 as posted in another thread....  Smiley

Would the the PS3 have PQ and AQ that's "twice" that of the LG? I'm guessing probably not, but it's major advantage over the LG is that it's also a very good gaming machine: a two-in-one machine for twice the LG price then.

I have the PS3 Slim 250GB, and I bought it primarily for BD playback. But since it's there, I find that I do tend to sneak in a quick game or two every now and then hehe

That too is what i'm thinking, to use the console every now and then to play some games. I can also stream video from my mac.

But ps3 does not support mkv files. Can the LG BD370 stream/ play mkv thru USB?

I sold my Panasonic DMP-BD60 here in PDVD,
and upgraded to the DMP-BD80...

I need the analog output and the onboard DTS decoder of the player,
which is a perfect complement to my aging system...

Cheers...

PS3, hehehe.

I'm not looking to purchase a stand-alone BDP until after prices have stabilized.  I'm pretty sure that by next year or by 2012, we will be having a virtual plethora of mid-level players below 10k, unlike now na nasa over 20k pa rin ang price point ng entry-level players.

Tapos, bibili ka pa ng matinong receiver which can decode True HD sound, so additional gastos na naman...

The mkv files that can be played would be limited to 4gb max if fat32.

The reason why I sold my BD60 in the first place, wala akong decoder ng True HD,
which halos nagiging standard na ng mga BD titles, I need a player that has analog out,
and a built in decoder that would complement my old system.
Luckily and thanks to my ol' Denon AVD2000, meron syang 6 channel input,
its the closest I can hear that audio track. I held back in buying a new receiver,
it wouldn't be practical...

cheers

An additional NMT player will solve this issue. Grin

Crimson flames tied through my ears...

« Reply #109 on: Feb 20, 2010 at 02:31 AM »

I got the Samsung BD-P1500 from Deo last December.

Never had playback/compatibility problems with the few BDs & R1 DVDs I have until this morning.

I wanted to see the anniversary edition of Unforgiven upscaled because I'm having second thoughts upgrading my copy to blu. To my amazement, it wasn't able to play the newly purchased dvd. To make sure that the disc is not defective, I popped it in my old but trusty Sony DVP-NS608P/S, no prolemo!

Yun din naisip ko at first. However, I tried all my R1's in this player & all played flawlessly.

Kung napaaga lang sana sa marketplace yung Sony mo, I could've bought it.

Successfully upgraded the firmware last January, ver. 2.5. Ver. 2.6 has been out for quite some time now but due to recent power interruptions, I haven't upgraded to this day.

He-he-he! Thanks bro. It's R1, got it sealed pa. Well, The BD-P1500 was able to play disc 2 (Special Features) of Unforgiven. Isang dvd pa lang naman pumalya. The Fight Club Bluray I got from you also had no problems.

SONY BDP-S360    I find the remote a bit strange. No eject function.
                          mkv not playable either
Loading time, bagal. Parang regular dvd player lang speed.

did you try adjusting the power properties in the menu, in my case the option there made it quicker (quick start mode). I also find it strange not to have an eject button after being used to dvd players that have one.
