Oppo had been using two types of video processing technologies. The DCDi by Faroudja and VRS by Anchor Bay. Whats the difference between the two and which is better?

Finally, I got the answers to my own question. Thanks to Oppo Customers Service for the quick reply. For everybody's info.

Sir,

The differences is the accuracy in de-interlacing and scaling. The Faroudja DCDi chipset was good for its time, but the ABT VRS solution is faster, more accurate, and has more processing power for additional enhancements to the original source material. The ABT VRS can support the de-interlacing of more cadences, and repair more errors associated to bad cadence or interrupted cadences. The end result is less interlacing and aliasing errors.

The BDP-83 is expected to be released in February or March.

Best Regards,
