Latest PS3 price and where to get

Hi guys, my officemate is looking for a PS3, ano na ang latest price nya at saan makakakuha? also what other specs that need to be noted? NTSC or PAL, Asian or US version - waa naman syang region 1 dvd, warranty, service?

i think the most popular right now is mr dynamic in v-mal greenhills. around 24k package already with 3 games. their units are from hk so this are the ntsc asian units. 80 gb na with ds3 controller already.

might be lower if you dont get the games included.

Hong Kong version...does that mean it plays region 3 DVDs? I too plan to buy a PS3. On the box does it say what country is it from and what regions the PS3 plays? I plan on buying my PS3 at SM Manila or SM Cubao.

Pero ako, sa Datablitz ako bumili for authenticity and latest models.  Kasi nun tumitingin ako sa MR Dynamic and EYO ng PS3 late last year, meron pa silang mga binebenta na 40GB models when I knew that those were phased out already.  My concern is, since di ako marunong tumingin, baka mabentahan ako ng old stock.  Pareho lang naman mga price ng unit, essentially.

rumor has it that they are slashing 150USD from its price, number 5 na sila sa ranking ng gaming consoles, tinalo pa sila ng PS2 primarily dahilsa sobrang mahal nila.

The cheapest price right now for the slim is 15k in Greenhills (you would have to haggle and look around).

i-Tech sells it for 16k. 

Don't have an idea on the prices for the old phat ones on sale.

Only the first two generations of the PS3 phat have backwards compatibility. There are phat models that don't have this feature anymore.

Sir, if you still have your good old PS2, better use that for PS2 games, sayang ang lens life.

you can't find new BC-equipped units in stores anymore, they were phased out in early 2007.

Yup, you'll only find the BC-equipped PS3s in the second-hand market. That is, if owners are willing to sell it, especially the launch units with the card reader. I hear they're collector's items already.

True that.  I've seen some in mint/near mint condition that are actually being sold at a more expensive price than the slim, especially the non-black models.

Another thing... It's rather pointless to get a BC-equipped unit if it's not a US/Region 1 console, unless you can read Japanese and/or have a collection of PAL PS2 games.
Remember, while PS3 games are region-free, PS1/PS2 discs aren't.
